Suction.. Sticks well to glass backs (especially flat ones). I haven't seen it fall off till now, has a nice sticky grip. It also works with most cases especially TPU ones. Important thing is it needs a flat back, my XZ2 has wireless charging but curved back and doesn't get enough surface area to stick well.
Is the speaker as good as it sounds in the tv ad?

Yeah it gets pretty loud when you place it on a table. Holding on hand not that much but still loud enough. Only downside when holding in hand is it's just downfiring bottom speaker.

S9 has a better camera.
S9 has a better display.
No ugly notch with chin (but this is subjective)
Pretty buggy UI on LG
Battery life seems to be bad too compared to s9

No, I've seen some well done comparisons and the G7 camera walked all over the S9 in most shots. Not to mention that the G7 has far better audio, both in the speaker, and in the headphone jack. That is huge for me.
I've seen nothing to indicate the battery life is "bad" as you say.
I hate the curved feel of the S9 too so I'm glad to see there's a phone that will give me better audio and cam.

$750 is worth it for me, though I know I can save if I wait a little so I'm going to try to hold off a couple weeks and see what happens.

You'll see bad camera reviews from LG g7 owners pouring in. Oh, already there. Check out these forums.

This is obviously a comment from Samsungs undercover marketing campaign.

Actually I'm a software engineer but how will I prove that.

I am kind of addicted to phones tho. I have the money so I own 6 phones and rotate them whenever new ones come out so I handle a lot of them always looking for the perfect phone.

I over analyze dimensions of a phone and hate that the new Samsung phones are heavier. I write an email to Samsung presidents in English and Korean and Japanese emails to Sony and Chinese emails to Huawei and ZTE and Xiaomi asking them to change things I see each with pics of the phones I own. I memorize all the height width dimensions and gram of every phone in 2018. I don't do it for memorization sake but it just sticks to me. I can prolly guess most of the exact grams and mm of every phone past 4 years. Weird? Maybe. Crazy? Maybe. Smart? Maybe. But yea I just do that.

I also read every article on every news channel daily regarding phone tech and love getting info on new tech.

I secretly wish I could work at an att store so I can advise everyone pros and cons of phones but I make way more doing software so that's just a fantasy.

Is there anyone as obsessed as me? Tbh I doubt it. I don't think anyone memorizes every Stat sheet of phones for the past 4 years. But maybe someone does. I'd like to meet her or him.

The criticism was that you are giving opinions without objective experience and that comes across as spam. For years, these forums have been flooded with people praising and bashing simply based on their ownership and allegiance and it's become a major annoyance to those of us who come here for actual info.

But I had this phone and the camera didn't cut it. And the ui still lagged. The stereo speakers sounds better on the s9. It is based on experience.

You'll have to pardon me if I don't believe you, based on your post-history.
Hopefully we can agree to disagree.

Who cares about phone speakers? Just plug it in to an audio system or headphones and this is where the LG blows your galaxy out of this universe! I don't know where you're getting the lag from, my V30 doesn't lag at all.

Well, I care about phone speakers. I just don't care about the stereo speaker gimmick on a phone because the 5" between the left and right speakers does not create a meaningful stereo image. The volume of the G7 was a big selling point for me because there are so many situations I find myself in on a daily basis where I want to hear the audio from my phone without headphones and without lugging around a BT speaker.

I do agree with you about the headphone audio. After HTC dropped the headphone jack from their newest phone I was dreading having to buy a Samsung and downgrade my audio experience. I am so thankful the LG phones have high-end audio. Made the choice pretty easy.

Yup, that's what I was referring to as well. I was at lunch at the time and was trying to quickly talk some sense into our resident troll. I too, was only purchasing HTC phones for audio, that ended when they decided to no longer release Windows Phones so I then went with an Alcatel Idol 4S (Windows) which had an issue with its headphone jack to where I would have to unplug it multiple times to get both channels working. When going to Android I heard that HTC dropped the headphone jack but then LG put in the Quad DAC and here we are. This is by far the best sounding phone I've ever owned.

I can assure you they do not sound better than the G7. I've had both and the G7 sounds absolutely amazing
I have a thin TPU case, and I really like that it does not impede the Boombox volume boost. And I'm totally fine with the camera, for what it's worth

I disagree, if LG priced their phone too low, they will be viewed as a "generic" brand (which some people still have that idea, but ironically LG made the "premium" Pixel 2 XL). $750 seems fair considering the new features and hardware.. the Note 8 was over $1000 and the iPhone X was like $1300, Huawei P20 Pro is officially $1,131.70, the S9+ is around $840-$930 but really was pretty much the same phone as the S8 with very little improvements such as slo-mo. Consider the new tech built inside: a Quad DAC (those other flagships could only dream of having that), still has a 3.5mm jack, new BoomBox sound chamber, a new 16MP wide angle camera, new low-light camera, extra button on the side, wireless charging. They are probably taking a lower profit for it like always and is investing in trying to get people's attention that they have a great phone.

If you want a cheaper cost, just get the V30, probably you can get it a lot less than $750, still in stock. But comparing to other flagships, I think it's alright. Stop viewing LG as a cheap phone, they are made in South Korea (except the battery), a very advanced tech country. Huawei, Apple (Foxconn), OnePlus are made in China (no offense).

Wtf? How does being made in South Korea justify the price? South Korea and Japan may be alright in consumer electronics (China's not bad either) but China's only more advanced when it comes to cutting edge tech. Look up what Baidu and Huawei are doing in artificial intelligence, not to mention all the quantum stuff & other bleeding edge tech China's doing. Other than the Dac nothing else justifies the price over the competition, camera isn't better than the competition nor is the single speaker (it's loud but quality certainly isn't the best), extra button on the side (really?) isn't valid, just a Dac isn't enough.

Terrible argument, but that non-withstanding, you can't overlook just how valuable a DAC like that is. To people who care about audio, it's not even debatable. Plus, you skipped the speaker innovation which allows the phone to truly fill a room with sound. It also tops what everyone else is doing.

Speaking of topping everyone else, the super bright mode is wonderfully helpful and means I never have to look for shade to see the screen {something I've never had with another phone).

Price-wise, I didn't even think twice as it offers me much more than I'd get from an S9 and there's nothing the S9 does that leaves me feeling shortchanged with the G7.

Ultimately, what it comes down to is personal taste and needs. You might not benefit from better audio, so maybe a different phone suits you. That's fine. Whatever you bought would probably not be worth the money for me. But, thankfully we have a number of choices for all different consumers.
