Can't do anything about the 6gb of ram, but is performance decorated At All by inserting a 64GB micro SD card into the phone?
Now a days you get good high speed sd cards. I still feel they don't perform as well as internal storage but for storing music/photos etc you should be generally fine with a fast SD card. But if you put some low quality SD card you might have issues.

High speed brand name cards are so cheap I always laugh at the iPhone people who pay an arm and a leg for storage upgrades.

If I have option of 64 GB + SD card and 256 GB + SD card or no SD card, I'll still go for 256 GB internal storage. And I also buy the highest available storage of the latest iPhone. So you can laugh at me for preferring different things

Yes, if there are options I agree to go with the most you can afford. Being an iPhone or an Android it doesn't make a difference. My point was it is so much cheaper to buy micro SD cards and if you want to phone that doesn't come with higher storage I personally wouldn't let that be a showstopper since you can add a ton afterwards. That is unless you have an iPhone. LOL!

750 is ridiculous. the s9 is a far superior phone. it's a shame I wanted to try the g7. but at that price I'm going back to the s9

I couldn't care less about the G7 because the notch drives me crazy. Though what you say make no sense. How could you call the S9 far superior when you haven't had the opportunity to use the G7 at all? You're mistaking preconceived notions for facts.

I kinda want this phone but my gut says wait. I'm hoping the Pixel 3 comes to TMobile. I also want to see how the V40 is going to shape up.

I saw a Pixel for the first time yesterday. One of my clients had one. I don't know which generation it was but despite the bezels, it was a gorgeous phone.

So anyone received their G7? I see from Reddit that T-Mobile orders started delivering from yesterday. Anyone who already received it what's your thoughts on it?
Planning to drop by the store today to check it out myself.

So here it is.. Finally T-Mobile gave availability dates.

Pre order starts: May 25th
Availability in stores: June 1st
Cost: $750

Personally think $750 is expensive for this phone (just my opinion), I think there will be a good sale or offers during father's day weekend on June 17th.

Edit: looks like there is BOGO deal already. No need for adding a new line, if you have 2 lines you can buy 2 of them and get 24 monthly credits on one of them making it free. If you only have one line you are out of luck unless you add a new line.

I disagree, if LG priced their phone too low, they will be viewed as a "generic" brand (which some people still have that idea, but ironically LG made the "premium" Pixel 2 XL). $750 seems fair considering the new features and hardware.. the Note 8 was over $1000 and the iPhone X was like $1300, Huawei P20 Pro is officially $1,131.70, the S9+ is around $840-$930 but really was pretty much the same phone as the S8 with very little improvements such as slo-mo. Consider the new tech built inside: a Quad DAC (those other flagships could only dream of having that), still has a 3.5mm jack, new BoomBox sound chamber, a new 16MP wide angle camera, new low-light camera, extra button on the side, wireless charging. They are probably taking a lower profit for it like always and is investing in trying to get people's attention that they have a great phone.

If you want a cheaper cost, just get the V30, probably you can get it a lot less than $750, still in stock. But comparing to other flagships, I think it's alright. Stop viewing LG as a cheap phone, they are made in South Korea (except the battery), a very advanced tech country. Huawei, Apple (Foxconn), OnePlus are made in China (no offense).

S9 has better display tech, but the G7 is a far superior overall display experience for one gigantic reason. It's flat.

The edge display is one of the worst blunders in the history of mobile phones. A screen that bends away from you makes zero sense. Zero. Glare on each edge, text and graphics are distorted on each edge on many websites, usable screen space is very narrow, hard to pick up and even harder to protect properly. It's a collosal design flaw.

I have the S9, just ordered the G7. As for the camera. That's purely subjective. G7 has a wide angle, which in my experience, is far more practical than 1000fps slow mo etc.

In my book, G7 is the far better phone. Notch or not. I hope Sammy goes back to a flat display option for their flagships. Until they do, they will always be a step behind with regards to display.

The s9 camera is just better than g7. Period. Not up for argument.

Whatcha think?
Just setting up, looks good. Too early to say anything. Right off can make out display is good but not as good as AMOLED displays. Other wise phone feels very comfortable in hand, easy to hold and handle.

Will have more later.

The display and build quality are my main concerns. Going from a LG G5 to the S8 was like night and day. I'm waiting for the V40 unless I read something that persuades me otherwise.

G5 was like one of the worst phones ever. Overall LG build quality is fine from G6 onwards. Display not so much still 2nd tier below Samsung and iPhone. G7 build looks great but display not the best. It's not bad but you won't be wow'd by it.

Was testing the speaker, crazy loud when you keep it on a table. It automatically does it's boom box magic when you place the phone down on a surface. Holding in hand volume is decent but obviously single firing down speaker not the ideal. At least it can get loud.

Glad to get my wireless charging back especially with flat back. Was missing that in few other recent phones. So easy to charge in my car without meddling with cables.

What holds the phone to that stand?
Suction.. Sticks well to glass backs (especially flat ones). I haven't seen it fall off till now, has a nice sticky grip. It also works with most cases especially TPU ones. Important thing is it needs a flat back, my XZ2 has wireless charging but curved back and doesn't get enough surface area to stick well.
