Lg optimus us rooted but cant tether

okay, I'm not tech savvy at all but I have rooted my lg optimus S I've downloaded a easy tether and a few opther tethering apps. I turn them on but then no signal appears for me to connect to. But it says tethering now. I'm very confused.

I'm sorry, but that is wrong. You would need a plan to do it the official way, that is why these root apps exist (so you can tether without paying $30 a month )

Pss...FoxFi has been removed from the Sprint Play Store. and he is using the Stock Rom so its useless unless he downloads it and install via SDCARD.
