LG has the best infrared remote control app by far. I've used Samsung's and HTC's as well and it's just so much easier to setup and go. I don't know why LG doesn't get more credit for it, but I guess using the remote control on your phone isn't that big of a deal to a lot of people

Took me about three minutes to set up 3 devices. A+ job on LG part. Really nifty to have.

The IR blaster is pretty nifty. I have a cheap, off brand LCD TV, and I was amazed it is on the support list and works with the G3! I didn't buy the phone for that feature but definitely nice to have. Off topic - VLC Remote is also incredibly useful.

Anyone have success getting it to work with the Comcast X1 box? It's kind of laggy.

The range isn't great, but the best function for it is to **** my wife off when she's watching rubbish TV as she has no idea what is happening to the telly.

Yes, I got it to work on an X1 box. The X1 box is 'laggy' with the normal remote. Actually, it's a terrible experience, I have to reboot mine every week at least.

Back on topic, set up was easy and it works on everything I own. Range leaves something to be desired, which almost ruins the point of it.

I haven't been able to get the IR remote to work reliably, but Xfinity has an X1 remote app that works pretty well.

I really like the learning feature...you can set up a totally custom remote ala Touchsquid.
Had to set one up for an old Teac stereo....genius.

Lol I've never had problems with the range. Guess I'm always sitting too close :-/

I did notice that they no longer have an option for a dvd player, which kind of sucks. On the Optimus G pro and G2 the option was there.

You are so mean! (translation - will try that tonight ;)).

xbox 360 slim, vizio sound bar, LG TV (works great for some reason!). I was at the hospital the other day getting an x-ray for the kid's broken arm. Loud annoying news shows were on, until i turned it off. :)

But you can create a DVD remote using your remote. It's cool. I did it with my Blu-ray player and it's easy. You choose the buttons you want then it will walk you through the steps of programming. basically it will highlight a button and you press that button on your remote and point it at the end of your phone and that programs the button on your phone.
