Hello. I have an LG Sunset running Lollipop 5.0.1. I generally don't use my mobile data, but in the last week or so I have been out of range of a wifi so I tried turning the data on. Each time, it says it has a 4G connection and I can see the arrows showing data transfer, but there is also a small spinning circle next to the 4G symbol indicating that data is syncing. It won't connect to any websites, email, etc. -it just spins.
My question is - how can I see just what is "syncing" - I have the phone set to not update apps - and I only update apps manually over wifi when it is available. Of course, not wanting to use up my data on a download I can't identify, I do turn it off - but the same thing happens each time I try to turn it back on - so there is something "waiting" to be downloaded.
Is there a way to tell what is being updated when I turn on the mobile data? I thought that perhaps it was trying to update some app - but none are set to automatically update. Could it be an update to the phone itself or to Android?
If I do update everything when I am in range of wifi, should that solve this issue - or would the phone be trying to download other things as well? If I could see what it is trying to download, I'd have a better idea of what is going on.
I am planning to travel in an area where I won't have access to any wifi, but if the data connection continues to be an issue - that will be a problem.
Everything else works fine - the phone does connect to wifi when one is available and can make calls and get texts, it is just this one issue with the data that is a concern.
Thanks for any ideas!
