LG UI question

Well, I am one of those lucky people working with the Note 7 recall, and I've decided not to stick with the Note. It has nothing to do with the battery lighting on fire, or the time spent waiting for a replacement - rather, I'm really not happy with the phone. I have always used Samsung smartphones in the past, and quite honestly have never tried or held an LG phone in my life. I've narrowed it down to two choices - get the Moto Z now or wait for the V20, and I had a question about the latest LG phones in general. I did a quick search, and kept getting information on the previous generations of phones, so I apologize if this has been asked before.

Does the LG UI tend to cause stuttering/lag in devices (specifically newer ones) as much as TouchWiz? How does it tend to compare to a less-modified version of Android as far as lag/resources used is concerned?

I have the G5 since it came out and no lag whatsoever.

I'm on the G4, also with no UI lag and wouldn't expect the V20 to be any different. In fact, Samsung is the only maker I've heard of with this problem.

I've had the g3 and g4. I run nova launcher on all my phones. I see no lag. I am looking at getting the Z play or force as an upgrade though.

I had some lag on Google Now Launcher with the G4. If I turned off the Now function it was smooth as butter. I suppose the culprit was the 808/3 gigs of ram. Action Launcher was perfect.

From my experience with the G5, the 820/4 gigs of ram performs much, much better. Smooth experience regardless of which launcher I use.

My V10 has been very smooth. No problems here. Looks like they dialed back the LG skin in the Nougat update. Glad they kept the Capture+ feature. I use that one a lot.

I'm in exactly the same boat but leaning toward LG to get ir blaster and hopefully (but not announced) wired hdmi option. The LG speaker can't help but be better than Note 7 and a bad battery can easily be changed.

I will miss the amoled screen and fast high quality snapshots though.
