LG V10 overheating cellular radio

Whoops, sorry, I mistyped. Click on cell standby under battery usage and also exchange under battery usage.

Something is clearly wrong with your phone. Time to contact your carrier or LG. When you put the phone to rest at night, do you turn off mobile data and Wi-Fi, or do you need those on when you are sleeping?

From the original post you can see in the graph when I turn on cellular I go from a 3 percent/hour discharge rate to a 50 percent/hour discharge rate. The battery temperature also spikes to 110. It's crazy. When I turn on Wi-Fi and off cellular it goes back to normal as seen in chart. So dramatic has to be a radio hardware or software defect.

I have been using Wi-Fi only it's not practical to use cellular at all. 1.5 hours drain phone. I am cruising around in Wi-Fi and GPS mode on and airplane mode on to keep cellular off and GPS and days when on Wi-Fi networks. Once in a while I'll turn on radio if I really need it. Every time it crushes the battery 55 percent drain per hour and raises the battery temperature to 110 degrees.

Post some screen shots of battery use.

Radio back on. Strong signal and the pattern repeats.

The battery temperature just spikes so quickly when cellular radio turns on.

Click on Google play services. It is killing your battery. Also click on Android system and post both of those.

Google play services shouldn't be keeping your phone awake for 24 minutes. My up time is currently 28 hours and Google services had only kept my phone awake for 2 minutes.

I may have some good news. I shut off that top menu when the phone is off and the phone battery life has been in the upper 90°s for hours and its cold!!! Data is off but WiFi is on. This could be great.

You shut off what top menu? The second screen?

If LG is watching, I'd like that promo I missed with the battery, charger, a refrigerator, dishwasher and range/oven. 😄

I was ready to buy an iPhone 6S Plus and I despise Apple and its management.

Yep, but only when the phone is off. I could do without it when the phone is on too, if it kills battery life.

That shouldn't effect battery life that much. There has to be something else going on. I keep second screen on at all times except when I'm sleeping and I just got over 29 hours up time with 4.5 hours SOT with 5% left.

Mod Note - Please do not post 1 picture per post (multiple can be added at a time). If you're having issues please let us know via the Site Feedback section.

Thanks.

When I woke up this morning I grabbed for the phone and it was hot and I realized the problems are not over. So I looked at the statistics and I don't know why phone, standby, exchange services use up so much of the battery when I'm sleeping and when there are no phone calls. Doesn't make sense that both the phone and the standby would be so high. I've attached the list too usage statistics.

I don't use Exchange at all. Completely disabling second screen did nothing for me.
