LG V10 stuck on "Life's Good" screen but won't turn on

Yay!! Previous me was smart!! My new phone arrived...loaded up with Marshmallow!!! Not everything was saved..mainly info from in my apps..like password keeper is missing. But I am going to restore from my last backup on my laptop and hope more info is on there.

Well, seems I just joined the "Life's Good" club today. I was grabbing a bite at my favorite local mom & pop Indian restaurant and my LG V10 just shut itself down. I haven't had too many crashes since I got the phone but it seems it's toast. Won't get past the Life's Good screen for love or money. I'll have to see what I can do tomorrow at T-Mobile...probably get a refurb from the insurance plan (I'm pretty sure I'm beyond the warranty).

You don't know if you're past the warranty, or if LG won't fix it.

What's the manufacture date?

If you have insurance, then get a replacement. If not, ask LG to fix it.

If LG will handle the warranty AND if you took good care of your phone and want to keep it, have LG do the repair. Good luck. Even if out of warranty LG still may fulfill their obligation since their rate of defective devices is higher than the industry norm - we think...

I purchased mine in 11/15 and the manufacture date was 10/15. I just received it back from lg today after being repaired under warranty for free.

I had the exact same issue with my previous LG smart phone! Although it got past the Life's Good Screen it won't go any further past the T-mobile logo screen either. Three of our LG phones had the same issue since they are all stuck at the Life's good logo screen. I am never owning another piece of **** garbage like LG ever again. Going to upgrade to a Huawei Honor 6X phone now. It seems that I cannot even fix the boot loop problem either. Does anyone think that the LG phones are becoming defective?

I joined the bootloop "Life is good" club yesterday, what a shock. Scanned the entire 'net, there is no easy fix. Hopefully I should recover my configuration.

T-mobile LG V10. No water, heat, cold or anything unusual, no drops or shock or vibration.
just decided to fail one day. Clearly a hardware issue.

The older LG Optimus G Pro was so much better. Much better interface, never broke down.

Apparently LG V10 continues the same legacy of bootloop found in G4. No more LG products for me.

shipping it off to LG, waiting a while, oh and I am not sure if my phone is under warranty at all or if it's older than 15 months and not covered. I contacted the person who I got it from and turns out he does not know either how old it has having gotten it off swappa himself. So am the third owner. I will find out the make date and see if LG can do anything.

yeah, real simple.

That whole "15 months" thing is an urban legend that came from out of nowhere. Their stated warranty is 12 months--their web site is clear on that--but they fixed my 14 month old phone without blinking.

Why would you expect otherwise?

As for "waiting a while," did you read my experience? They paid for shipping both ways, they fixed it and shipped it out the same day it arrived, and all of this at no cost to me.

Why are you saying it will happen any differently for you?

Very simple. All you have to do is take out the battery and look at the label, AND YOU'LL SEE THE DATE.

You really, really want to sit back like Jabba the Hutt and have the world accommodate you, don't you. Never should any misfortune, no matter how little, befall you.

Just start the process on the LG web site and see what happens. Or not--but don't just come here and make things up just so you can hear yourself complain.

Can you provide more details on how to go to backup mode?

How do you do a backup when it won't turn on?

If you really want to backup the phone which has bootloop issue, put your phone into a freezer with a ziploc bag and wait 5 mins. You may have a chance to turn your phone on and stay running for 10 mins, which is enough for backup process.

I have used this method and sucessfully backup everything. I did not invent this method, just google it and you will see there are a lot people sharing their success story.

The theory behind this is to shrink the microcrack of the soldering joint and make the flux flow again.
Before sending your phone for repair, make sure you take a picture of the water damage sensor, it is right next to the battery connector. If it is pink or red, you can forget sending the phone for repair.

There should be no damage to the phone by putting it into freezer. I send my phone back for repair and they examine it and do not blame me anything. And I got full store credit back for the phone after 8 months of use.

The date on battery is for the battery and not for the phone.

The manufacture date of the phone is on the serial number. And first digit indicate the year, second and third digit indicate the month. My battery and my phone has 4 months difference in manufacture date.

LG provide warranty for
1. 12 months within date of purchase or
2. 15 months within manufacture date.

It state clear when you sign up the repair, you can also confirm it with LG customer service through their live chat.

I do not invent this method and do not invent this theory. It is on xda forum g4 page.

State your theory then.

ummmmmm.....it's not "theory".

Regardless of where you got it, that's not a true statement at all.

I did the freezer thing for days. It does not work. I barely got 20 seconds out of it. Doesn't turn on. Even inside the freezer.

If the phone isn't able to turn on you'll need to have it repaired. Sorry to hear about it. If under warranty, it can either be repaired from your carrier or LG directly. If your phone is in nice shape (screen not scratched up, etc.) I suggest using LG for repair since you'll get your phone back instead of a refurb.
