LG V20 - Fingerprint Scanner Stopped Working......

Had no idea there was plastic on the scanner. Mine works much better now that I've taken it off. I love using fingerprint to unlock my screen, and now I can use either hand. Was having a heck of a time registering my left forefinger until I took the plastic off.

Mine started doing this recently - had the phone for more than a year. Fingerprint reader now does not read when a charger plug is connected. Unplug, and it works fine. Plugged in, is gives a double buzz, red fingerprint & try again message. So I unplug for a few seconds, no big deal. Or after five fails. use the keypad with my pin.

After one week of use the fingerprint scanner quit working. Sometimes I see a message that says "fingerprint not working, if problem persists restart phone". That does not work. Anyone else having issues with fingerprint scanner?

Clean it and then re-register your fingerprints. My hands have been dry and cracked lately (winter weather) so my FPS hasn't been working well, so lately I've been just using PIN security. Clear your cache and reboot your phone. Worst case scenario, back up and then do a factory reset.

I used the index finger on my left hand to set up scanner. Much to my dismay I used the index finger on my right hand and it unlocked the phone.

Going to try other fingers then reset.

Anyone else?

I had same issues with my fingerprints no longer working. There wasn't even an option to add or remove fingerprints in settings. I instinctively cleaned the power button with a stick of cotton bud laced with a little perfume, blew it dry immediately and voila! It worked. Checked settings and saw that it now displays "Fingerprint and Security" unlike prior to with just "Security". Any of you can try this. My phone is less than 2 weeks old.
