I'm having problems with my lgv20 and my account with metro by T-Mobile. When I go to the store and hook into their Wi-Fi I can make calls but not receive them but when I hook into my wifi at home I can't place or receive calls. Is there a way to capture what settings I have in my home wifi and compare them with those to the store? Like a data dump and how to open it once I get it? Thank you for your time.

I know. But all internet companies still support 4g and 4g lte and it's going to be like this at least for another 10 years at least. And no, I can't make call using Wi-Fi something wrong with it for some 2 years ago... I've been ok without making wifi calls. What do you think metro by T-Mobile wifi is different from mine at home?

Sorry, it's not quite clear to me -- are you saying that you can make calls using the regular cell connection (rather than using wi-fi calling)?

The ability to use wi-fi calling on device can depend on the carrier as well. Have you asked Metro's support about this? They might not be able to tell you much about such an old device, but they may still have an explanation as to why it might not work correctly.

No, I can't make or receive phone calls while on my home Wi-Fi, but when I'm at metro by T-Mobile store Wi-Fi I can call but not receive calls.

Just curious why do you think the calls you got when you were in the store were related to WiFi? Does it say WiFi calling or VoIP calling?

Google suggested these actions.

Key Troubleshooting Steps for LG V20 VoIP Issues:
  • Network & Connectivity:
    • Toggle Connections: Turn off Wi-Fi and use mobile data, or vice versa, to determine if the issue is network-specific.
    • Restart Router/Modem: Power cycle your router/modem by unplugging it for 30 seconds.
    • Check Signal: Ensure you have a strong, stable internet connection, as low bandwidth causes dropped calls or one-way audio.
  • Device Settings (LG V20):
    • Restart Phone: A simple reboot can fix temporary software glitches.
    • Clear Cache/Data: Go to Settings > Apps > [VoIP App] > Storage and clear the cache and data.
    • Reset Network Settings: Navigate to Settings > General > Backup & Reset > Network Settings Reset.
    • Update Software: Ensure your LG V20 is running the latest software version.
  • VoIP App Configuration:
    • Permissions: Verify the app has necessary permissions (Microphone, Phone) enabled.
    • Disable SIP ALG: In your router settings, look for "SIP ALG" and disable it, as it often disrupts VoIP traffic.
Let us know what you find.

No, it doesn't say anything. It just happens that way
While at the stire wi-fi my phone can make a regular phone call but can't receive a phone call. When I use my wi-fi at my home I can't make or receive calls. On the phone itself Wi-Fi is permanently turned off. I as well as the people from the store have turned off the phone and restarted back on. Etc.

How is the WiFi "permanently" turned off? Do you mean that you never enable it, did something happen to the phone that broke WiFi, what process causes it to be off "permanently"?

If your WiFi is permanently off, there's no way your call could have been WiFi. Having visited Verizon and AT&T, I assume T-Mo would have the same, they know who you are when you enter the store. Verizon puts you in a cue just by walking into some Corp stores with no input form the user. Your SIM tells them who you are, and, at least with Big Red and AT&T, my device automatically connected to their network.

You have missed or not answered some of our questions though and we need these answers.

Does the phone have an active account?

How is the WiFi for this device permanently disabled?

Have you tried any of the suggestions offered? Post #7 where you were asked to restart your router. Post #8 where you're given a list of items to check and do.

When you say the people at the store have turned it off and back on, do you mean the physical device was restarted or your service was interrupted and restarted?

Sorry, it's not quite clear to me -
Second.

At this point, I'm wondering if it's time to just factory reset the phone and start from scratch.

Though I kind of envy the OP for all having a working V20. That was my all time favorite phone, but mine just became too worn out to keep using it.

I should've said "wi-fi calling". What happened is that everytime the phone becomes sluggish it is easy to make a factory reset and start all over again. One day I did the same thing and the Wi-Fi calling feature wasn't working anymore. I can connect to wi-fi here at home and at the store. When at home I can't make or receive call but at the store I can call but not receive calls. The people at the store have turned off the device and turned it back on. Most of the suggestions were done already.
Like asked originally is there a way to get a data dump of my Wi-Fi at home so that it can be compared to the one in the store?
Thank you again to everyone that has tried to help me

What happens when you do try to make a call using wi-fi calling and it doesn't go through? Is there an error message, or does it just seem to hang?

Were you able to use wi-fi calling in the past? In one of your previous posts, it sounds like you said the last time it worked was a couple of years ago.

Try a quick reboot of your router at home, by unplugging its power for 30 seconds, then plugging it back in. If that doesn't help, then log into the router's settings (see the router's manual to learn how) and see if any firewalls are turned on.

When I turn on wi-fi calling it gives me an error that says Network connection error. Please try again.
Sometimes the router gets hot and doesn't work so I unplug it, wait for it to cool off and then turn it on again. So that's that.

Did you already try the Reset Network Settings option that VidJunky suggested above?

Also, the router shouldn't be getting really hot. How old is the router? It might be time to get a new one. In the meantime, make sure it's in a well-ventilated space.

Yes, I did. My router is an old one and I have a fan directed to it, it works fine. I live in mobile home park and the air conditioner as powerful as it is doesn't really cool off the home when the temperature outside is 110 and up
I live in Las Vegas... I'm 71y.o. and I have been around computers since I was 21y.o. working for the computer center of a bank in Chile South America as a data entry etc.
