Liberty Gingerbread

It seems that 7 homescreens is too many with this build. I started experiencing lag when scrolling between screens, with both Liberty ADW and ADW EX. I had to cut down to five.

Well Liberty for GB .01 went thru no issues. Everything backed up and is running fine..but the number battery zip from Wildman the other day didnt flash(for the guy who wanted his 1x,3g,4g icons)

Well I did this and my initial reaction is that it's missing the WOW factor that I like to get when flashing new Roms, that being said, for a work in progress it's a good start. Since I already miss my finely tuned build I had before flashing this I'm gonna wait till all the bugs are shaken out before I flash Liberty again.

(If you want to flash your backup you'll have to copy and paste it from the Liberty folder to clockwork folder) This was how I flashed back to .588 stock.

(that transparent background in the drawer was way cool though!!)

I feel ya, it was almost the feeling I got everytime I SBF'd(lol) and went back to the stock home screen in Froyo. Im sure it will change alot though since he added in nightlies. Somethin to look forward to. Oh at least the Pulldown Bar editor worked on the very first try. Never got it to work in Froyo

There's a patch for the accounts issue in Nightlies now.

...and Settings > Accounts still doesn't work for me.

Still doesn't here either with the. Its ok for now, Photobucket is the only one I had in there and now I can get to that from here in the message box so its alright. For now.

@jerseyboy Did you intall Gingercomb juiced 2.3 over LB v0.1 with no issues?

Yes the only thing that did not work was the blue market zip and the numerical battery icon Wildman put out a few days ago for that guy that wanted icons for 1x3g4g.

Also all of the yellow icon res files from DroidPirate don t work either. Guess they arent for the GB build. Wanted to change my vibrate, 3g, signal and battery to yellow for Liberty. Maybe it is because also I have the ginger juiced and extras laid down. Idk. Im goin to the car show up in the city. Il fool around with it later tonite

Just updating anyone whos still following, v 0.3 is in the toolbox and ready for download. These guys have really kicked it into high gear with this ROM and Im very happy with it.

flashed Liberty GB last night.....looks great other than not being able to sync contacts with facebook. I came here looking for a solution for that, but i guess it's a known issue. Other than that, great work.

:)

Should I do it?

it's a lot smoother and has fewer glitches than the stock rooted GB leak i was on before this. I can live without facebook contacts being synced up for now. Not sure if i would recomend it if you're still on 2.2 unless you just want the gee-wiz factor of being on the latest & greatest thing.

I did it and.........apps don't download when I am connected to wifi and no swype. As a matter of fact, I don't even think my internet works when I am om wifi haha.

If I understand this, if you have Liberty already on your phone you can install Liberty Gingerbread right on top instead of SBFing back to .340?

That's right. If you have the premium (paid version of) Liberty Toolbox, under Rom Manager (not to be confused with Koush and his program - it's a sub-section of Toolbox), you have the option of accessing the "nightlies". It asks you if you are coming from a froyo rom - I was coming from Liberty 2.0.1 - or if you had already installed one of those "OTA" things that were going around a week or two ago. If you were currently on froyo, you chose the first one, if you were on the OTA update version (your build number ends in 588) then you chose the second version. Pretty simple to do, and the results are *stunning*. I have never had a Gingerbread rom on ANY of my four android phones that was as quick as that rom - it's speed is amazing! I only installed it this evening, so I can't give a point by point analysis, but it seems smooth and stable - and blindingly fast.

^^^^help me out bro?

Well I'm no tech expert, but what do you want to switch back *to*, exactly? You may be able to simply "restore" in CWRecovery, if you did a back up. Try using Droid X Bootstrap - but only if you have USB debugging turned off - to boot into recovery, then just chose to do a nandroid restore.

If you still have problems, check back here and one of us will walk you through it. :)
