Life after 6P...whats next?

I went the iPhone 7 + route. A good phone.

When did you get the phone? Do you switch back and forth between Android/ios often? I was thinking about the 7+ Especially if a good deal comes up but wasn't sure if I should wait for the next iPhone.

I got it a couple months ago. I've never had an iPhone before so I was curious and my 6p battery has been brutal for a few months now. I've had blackberry (original OS and BB10), palm Webb's and android so I decided to give Apple a shot. I boot up my 6p to update it but that's about it. I do have a nexus 9 tablet as well so I end up using android and iOS everyday.

In my opinion nougat has better notifications and multi tasks better. The quality of the iPhone is really high. The battery is a beast and the performance is always smooth. It's extremely consistent. It addresses the pain points I had with android but I wish it handled notifications and multitasking better.

All of that said, I've been very happy with the iPhone and I can still use all the google services that I enjoy. One more thing is apps. They appear to generally be better made on iOS.

My carrier has a crazy good deal which would get me the 7+ for $150 Canadian. Think I'll take the offer and use iPhone for a couple of years to see where both Android and Apple are later. iOS definitely has its disadvantages(screen, size, flexibility), but the advantages for me currently are more on iPhone than Android. I think both platforms are incredible and will cater to each user differently.

Well said. Pros and cons to each.

I didnt end up going with the deal, decided to wait it out a bit longer. I was continuing to test Siri in Carplay vs Google Assistant and wow is Siri horrible with regards to requesting navigation, she just has difficulty understanding basic things where Google Assistant gets things right first time. While i dont use Nav often (maybe once or twice a month), the ability to simply ask for directions and get things rolling are much easier on Android than iOS.

This video kind of explains my experience, however he manages to get the address working where as in my case Siri just kept pointing me to a different country (USA) when i kept specifically asking for Toronto Canada.

Siri isn't in the same league as google for voice controls. She's really bad. I got her working for the things I need her to do but I still use google voice via the google app for other things. It is amazing how far behind Siri is.

Anyone interested in Nokia's next flagship? The Nokia 9. The Lumia line were actually great phones, they just ran windows, now they will run Android.

Video: thoroughly fine Nokia 9 concept gets set in motion

Cool concept design.i loved my Lumia 920 and 1020, well built phones. While I am keeping an eye on Nokia I'm still not sure about these new bezel-less design. The S8 looks nice design wise but I am not ready to move away from bezels.

Well i took a pretty good offer going on and went ahead with an iPhone 7+. Based on current leaks and known info, i dont have an interest in the newer iPhones major design overhaul first iteration coming out and I needed a break from Android (3+ years now). First time im back to iPhone (other than my work phone but that doesnt count) for personal since the release of the 5S (which i got rid of 3 months after launch). Kinda disappointed Android Central doesnt have an app on iOS (i guess that seems understanding but i still want to keep up on the forums here as i like the community) so ill use the web based version.

6P has been a fantastic phone while i had it up until the last couple of months as it started acting up, multiple self reboots a day, wifi connectivity issues, odd freezing (not often) and many apps closing often (google mostly). I did a few factory resets but it never resolved the underlining issues which always returned.

good luck to everyone in finding their 'Life' after 6P, keep the conversation moving as im sure once the Pixel 2 releases the decision to switch will get tougher for ones still using their 6P.

Cheers
