There is a very faint light leak below the capacitive buttons where the edge of the screen meets the body of the phone. There are 2 spots where the light is visible. Between the 3 capacitive buttons.

From what I've read this is common with lcd displays and capacitive buttons. Is that the case?

Yes sir, very common in HTC phones too. My ole' htc evo 4g had a serious problem with capacitive button bleed. The one x and one x+ weren't so bad but it was faint. HTC has really done away with most of it though since the olev HTC evo.:D

I have it too but only noticable in completely dark rooms.

Yeah it's only noticeable in pitch black rooms and it's extremely faint when viewed straight on. If I angle the phone it is more noticeable.

My EVO 4g LTE had the same light leakage, I took it back and got a new one!

As long as it's not hurting anything with the phone and I don't have to worry about dust getting in there and under the screen then it's not a big deal

My friend has only had HTC phones and he said every one has had a light leak at the bottom

Its actually really starting to bug me now. But I know its not worth it to get a new one. Because it will probably have something else wrong with it that isn't just cosmetic.
