Linking multiple contacts

Still running 2.1 but I have a problem with "ALL Contacts showing 2-3 listings for each person due to have verizon backup, google, missing sync (yes I am running a mac). Needless to say having several hundred contacts is making selecting each contact and linking them together is a very tedious process. Is there a way to link all common contacts at once?

Any advice greatly appreciated.
