List all issues with EVO update 3.70.651 here.

Anyone else having issues with wifi since the update? My phone was updated Friday morning, and ever since then my phone will not stay connected to my wifi network. It will work for awhile, but then just stop. Turning wifi off then back on will get it working again.

Also wifi, when it is working, seems a little slower since the update as well.

Same here. I've only had the phone for a couple of days so I was thinking of sending it back. It seems OK with some access points, just not the one I have at home.

Need to do more testing...
Darren.

So being new to this forum as in minutes ago(although I have been following this forum/site for about 6 months now) I have a question that I am sure may have been answered somewhere else. I got my Evo a week before Christmas finally moving on from the Hero. I just got my first pop up asking if I want to update to 3.70.651. I declined. Before I do can anyone tell me if there is anything positive about this update? Right now my Evo works great. It is not rooted. I may or may at sometime root it. Would I be better off waiting for a fix for these issues I have been reading about?

Don't Update

If it's not broken don't install the update, there are many issues and I for one keep getting knowck off the 4g network and I believe the new "4g Scanner" is the problem. The issue never existed before the update

I have the exact same problem. My phone will not stay connected to my WIFI. I had zero problems before the update. The only way to connect it is by turning it off, then on. But only then does it stay connected for about a minute.

Also my battery life has gone down tremendously.

Sprint, what did you do to my phone?!?!

only issue with the new upgrade is that online radio does not work AT ALL (in A Online Radio, Double Twist or Jam11). I used to use my phone every single day to listen to online radio, so this issue is a big one for me... will be taking my phone to a Sprint Store tomorrow..

Finally got ahold of someone at Sprint to ask about my signal issues latley. And apparently there are about 3 downed towers by my house. That would explain my issue, so it might not be the update but that was very strange that it happened after the update.

Can I join the party? Let me start by saying on a good note when I shut down and restart my phone it seems to load much faster,i think it was things on my SD card that would seem to take forever to load up. (not 100% sure, I'm not the brightest bulb)

Ever since the update my 4g signal is horrible, I never had less than full strength in my house for 4g, now sometimes I don't even get a signal. Battery drain is bad too, like many have said. One thing I notice that I'm not sure if anyone else has mentioned is e mail problems. It doesn't want to connect to their server, I've deleted my e mail account and then put it back in, but even then I still have problems. Also I'm having market problems, which could have more to do with the market update than sprint, but if one of my apps has an update, it seems that's when all of my apps disappear from my apps. I have to go threw all kinds of hoops to get them to show up again.

Fix for Online Radio Streaming Issue!!

Hello, I posted last night about online radio issues. I was only able to stream online radio over wifi and not at all over 3G after installing the recent Evo 3.70.651.1 update. I found this post on the Sprint Evo Forum and tried this fix and it worked! I am now able to stream radio with A Online Radio, Doubletwist and Jam11 over 3G.

Here's a link to the post:

HTC EVO 4G:EVO update broke streaming audio DEMAND...

"Apparently the update changed the settings below to something that disrupts streaming. Whether it is because Sprint wants to redirect this traffic to a proxy server or someone just goofed on the settings, who knows. But I checked the settings against a Moment and the Moment has different settings.

Here's the fix:

1) Dial ##3282#
2) Choose Edit Mode
3) Enter MSL# (you may need to call Sprint Support to get your unique MSL #)
4) Choose Advanced
5) Change HTTP PD Proxy Port to: 0
6) Change HTTP PD Proxy Address to: 0.0.0.0

Successfully tested on both 3G and 4G with NPR News app (which consistently errored out within seconds of starting before this change).

Now my phone last about an hour on full charge. It is constantly looking for wifi, since it won't stay connected. I guess my phone no longer does wifi. Large amounts of data use here I come.

This update has ruined my phone.

Is there a way to go back to the old software?

The only issue I'm having with my evo after the update is that my widgets on my home screen disappear or erase on its own. 4g works fine and does the radio. Has any one.else have that problem?

Mine sometimes disappear then come back in about 25 seconds. Its annoying when I am trying to do something quickly.

*** Just a word of caution to the people who are trying the MSL fix... I tried that and it ended up making my 3g not work anymore. I had to call sprint and get them to fix it. I even put it back to what it was before and that didn't fix it on my end... I had to actually call sprint and have them walk me through some steps while they did stuff on their end. Just a word of caution ****

Also I noticed that my NFS Shift game is running much slower... Anyone else have issues playing "heavy" games?

Hmmm. I guess I'm in the minority here, but I'm really quite pleased with the update and haven't had any problems at all. No problem with internet radio over 3G/4G, no 4G connection problems, battery life seems to be MUCH better on both my wife's and my Evo. I unplug the phone in the morning I'm still at ~60% battery in the evening with moderate use after the update -- before I would be at less than 20%. And I absolutely love Swype.

I'm not too thrilled about the other junk programs they installed with it, but I'll take them along with the improvements I've seen.
