List new things you noticed after update

Not sure if it means better memory handling but BeWeather crashes when moving around radar maps have stopped. Until GB upgrade BeWeather would have to be force closed every time I moved the built in radar maps even slightly. Be Weather upgrades and changelogs said they had fixed it in recent upgrades but they did not.

Since I use GOLauncher, Go Contacts and Go SMS I have seen no other easily discernible advantages to GB. My battery life has always been good enough. 18-22 hours per day with moderate use mostly on WIFI so I am not expecting much improvement on that score.

Wow, I didn't want to get my hopes up, but the battery actually did seem to last longer today. I have the 2750 battery, and I leave 4G on. Normally, after 5-6 hours, I'd be down to about 85-ish percent. Today, though, I was only down to 95% after 5-6 hours.

On the other hand, coming fresh out of charge, my phone sometimes gets better-than-usual battery life, so this could've just been a freak coincidence. Tomorrow will be a better test. If I can finish my 6 hour shift without dipping into the 70s, percent-wise, I'll definitely be a believer in Gingerbread helping battery. I just might even switch back to my stock battery, and only use the extended for times when I know I'm going to be using the phone a LOT.

Also, something else I noticed; well, actually, it could've just been something specific to the app I was using (I forgot to see if it worked in other apps >_<), though I've never noticed it in said app before. Anyway, when you click in a text box that already has text in it, a little slider comes up to let you move the text cursor around (so if you want to change a misspelled word, you can slide right to the wrong letter(s) and backspace).

Is it a green circle with a arrow looking thing?. If that is it, that was actually around in 2.2.1 (at least in Handcent)

The only thing I have noticed that bugs me is the custom ringtone still lags from one caller to another.

Of course I flashed from the .0 leak, so I don't know if that makes a difference.

Nah, it's a fairly big square with a pointed top. Again, though, I stupidly forgot to see if it was something that was universal to all the apps on my phone. For all I know, it could've just been something that only worked in the one app I found it in, and I just never noticed it before.

battery life seems to be better w/ GB on both T-BOLT and D2G. I also have the 2750 and will try and revert back to the 1400 and see what kind of usage it provides. Anyone using stock battery notice any improvement?

How is everyone's 4g data speeds with gingerbread now compared to froyos speed. Also has anyone had any reboots with stock gingerbread?

This Gingerbread crap has slowed my 4G down to Sprint 4G speeds. I was getting speeds up to 22mbps at home, now no higher than 8mbps. I am on fire.

I switched back to the stock battery just because I was trying to see what the big deal was about GB, it seems to be lasting longer than it did before I switched to the extended battery.

I have a question about the update. I don't have it installed. I'm using a custom rom (team Bamf son of a bliss).
Someone mentioned they just received the update and it had sense 3.0. That can't be right can it? I thought the update brought gingerbread but sense stayed at 2.1?? Can anyone confirm? Thanks in advance!

I'm also having this problem. I'll try unplugging the car charger and see if that fixes it. I don't mind much about the car panel as I don't really use it, but I really want my home screen to go horizontal again.
My car panel isn't working either. I would usually exit the app and leave the screen in landscape. But now I hafta start the app by search and when I exit the screen goes back to portrait.

Yahoo video calling is now messed up. (at least for me)

It turns on the back camera and not the front camera. The other person's feed was also extremely distorted, which has never happened because they have 4G in their area and I always use my WiFi since there is only 3G here.

Can anyone else confirm this?

The update did not have Sense 3.0. It only gave us Sense 2.1. Sense 2.1 still has some worthwhile improvements.

I definitely do. I used to turn off LTE to conserve battery life w/stock battery. I no longer have to. Very happy.

I used to have a "Search People" app but since the update I can no longer find it! Anyone else notice this?
Yeah, I noticed that too. In its place they've added a people icon to most of the People Favorites widgets. So searching all contacts is now a 2-step process. If you use one of those widgets, which I do, it saves a little screen real estate.

Thanks, Robrecht

My favorite improvement: easier to access cc: field in email.

It's also easier to delete apps, which show up in alphabetical order right away now.

Both very minor, I know, but wasn't really expecting much from GB anyway.

Thanks, Robrecht

Okay, so yeah, I was wrong, turns out that scrolling thing for text boxes was only something from within a specific app. Any other text boxes, it just uses that standard green circle with black arrow.

Anyway, the battery didn't quite hold up as well as I hoped it would. By the time I finished my shift today, I was down to about 73% (on the 2750 battery). On the other hand, prior to the GB update, I probably would've been down to the mid-60s, if not a little lower. So, I guess that is a bit of a step up.

I'm currently charging my stock battery, to see how it performs tomorrow. Of course, I'm a little concerned, because I haven't charged the stock battery in ages, so I don't know if tomorrow will give me a good representation of how the battery is.

My battery seems to last a bit longer as well using stock battery. Also noticed my download speeds for 4G have gone down as well use to get 15 to 20 Mbps now around 8 to 10Mbs here in Nashville,TN

I still have data drops. No discernable difference other than ugly gmail notifier
