List of nexus 7 2013 problems

I rather agree, it's going to make it harder to search for accessories. I've also seen people calling it the Nexus 7. 2.

Other than that, my biggest problem is it's not here yet! Have my shipping notice though! Really hoping I get a problem free unit.

The developer for Smart Tools e-mailed me to say why the ST app is using the front camera instead of the rear camera on the N7 FHD.
It's because the app looks for the model number of the device and sees a 'Nexus 7' and assumes it's the old one.

Just wondering has anyone rooted there's and tried to actually figure out if it is actually a software or hardware issue?
I can't cause I'm getting it replaced tomorrow.

My only problem in 24 hours is that my gorgeous N7 will not connect to the internet at Panera! My iPad and S4 go through the log on protocol seamlessly, so I imagine that this is a JellyBean issue. At home and at Starbucks it connects immediately. I cannot believe how speedy this little tablet is compared to my 2012 N7. If I hadn't shattered the screen 12 days ago, my 2012 would have been a nice gift for my best friend. Oh well, now I have a square paper weight:mad:

Anyone else have keyboard issue. When typing i get multiple keys clicked around the one i need, or enter randomly selects if I am close to it. Love the device except have the time i have to type on it, its way off.

Could this be caused by gestures enabled or something

I have this on one of the two I got yesterday. No idea what's causing it; it happens with Swiftkey or stock keyboard and you can even see it when scrolling or swiping. It's more prominent when using a stylus. I'm exchanging that one today, hopefully it's a rare problem.

Mine stops accepting touch inputs sometimes. Mostly within Chrome, but I've had it do it on the home screen, too.

It also shuts down on its own quite a bit. Like 2x a day. I'm going to try a hard-reset to see if that fixes it.

Anyone else get a periodic screen blink/flash. I don't know if it's hardware or software so I don't know if I need to return/exchange mine or not.

Sometimes while in auto brightness, it flashes a bit. Doesn't ever do it for me on a manual setting, so it must be a rapid changing brightness level. Not sure why it does it for you.

Yes, same issue on 2012 N7. It's been a known issue forever. I simply don't use auto brightness anymore and it's flawless

Thanks. I'll try w/o auto and see how it does. Interestingly, my original Nexus 7.1 never did that.

That's intentional.

Think old television screens when they were turned off. I thought that was a very neat touch.

How do you know that the old-tv sleep animation is intentional? From all the unboxing videos I've seen the nexus 7 just fades to black when put to sleep. Please provide link to proof of intention.

Has anyone noticed that the notification pulse light doesn't really blink like it does in my Nexus 4 that it just kinda stays on? Let me know if this is just happening to me.

Mine doesn't ever blink either.... When is it supposed to?

I know it works because when I tested it with lightflow I could get it blinking, but not with anything else.

ALSO having the issue with the keyboard (using SwiftKey) not being too accurate - my s and z get mixed up and I get a lot of space bar hits when doing c, v, and B's... I know my taps are good as my heat signatures are fine.

I also find that I really have to press hard like when I try to select to edit or move an app...

The screen seems almost too slippery, if that makes any sense

Nope. Still doing it. Blink or flicker every 5 minutes-ish.

I think the backlight is defective.

Damn it. And I know no Best Buys near me have any 32GB models left to exchange it with. I'll have to return it and wait who knows how long. Or settle for the less expensive 16GB. Crap...
