List of nexus 7 2013 problems

Is it just me or does the new Nexus 7 speakers are not loud enough. My SG4 is much louder and crispier than these so called "Stereo speakers, Surround Sound - powered by Fraunhofer3". Voume is set to the max. Is there anything else that could be done to increase the volume? Called up Google support and the technician wasn't of any help either. They want to take this up with ASUS or try an exchange from Best Buy from where I got mine. Any suggestions?

it's certainly louder than my gen1 and N4, but I really don't have a lot to compare it to side by side. I typically am using headphones when playing games, listening to music, or watching videos.

How about not a problem with the device by itself, but is it too much to ask to get a charging cable that could reach the floor from a desk... ASUS was putting a 5 ft cable in the TF301 and TF701 transformers, why not these!

Only 15 minutes into the actual device, a lot of reboots, but so far so AWESOME!

Cheers!

I know! I use the cable from my Logitech mouse. Not all cables work with it, but this one does and it's twice as long!

No problems here. Got it on Friday, and after a hiccup getting my apps to update due to the first update temporarily knocking out my wifi, it's been smooth sailing.

I was just comparing my new Nexus to my old, and noticed the screen is more yellow than white. Is this just mine, or normal?

Same Brightness, old behind new.

I think mine just died. I've had it barely half a day. I can't get it to turn on and the battery was at least over 70% last time I checked, I stepped away from it for an hour or so and now I can't get it to turn on. I'll try to charge it when I get home but if not then I'll be taking it back to Staples tomorrow.

UPDATE: Could not get it to power on after charging for a few hours. Took it to Staples and got a new one. So far so good.

I've had the new N7 for three days and honestly, the only complaint I can think of is that the power button is too flush with the body. The volume rocker sticks out far enough, but the power button doesn't stick out as much. Once I get the Portenzo cover with wake/sleep magnet it will be a non-issue.
Curious if y'alls buttons are even or does the power button sit lower in the body like mine?

Does anyone find the back cover to be really bad? I mean it feels like its leaving a residue on my fingertips whenever I hold it, like as if you ran your fingertips across a newspaper. Its hard to describe but man its really annoying me.

Picked up mine last night and so far am loving it! Only issue that I've noticed so far is that the keyboard seems very sensitive. Even using a stylus sometimes the keys double type or a key next to it will be pressed.

I'm not really seeing any big hardware or software issues. Smooth like buttuh! One small gripe I have is that when you are using earphones and the device goes to standby or sleep, there is a buzzing or whining sound that comes through. Perhaps it's just my device.

Is that headphone buzzing even when something is playing? I'm guessing it's electrical noise from the device.

I have a huge issue. Since I got my Nexus yesterday I haven't been able to put it down and my work output has suffered tremendously.

Has anyone noticed that the notification pulse light doesn't really blink like it does in my Nexus 4 that it just kinda stays on? Let me know if this is just happening to me.

I think the biggest problem is the name. Nexus 7 2013? Nexus 7 2? Nexus 7 Next Gen?

I rather agree, it's going to make it harder to search for accessories. I've also seen people calling it the Nexus 7. 2.

Other than that, my biggest problem is it's not here yet! Have my shipping notice though! Really hoping I get a problem free unit.

I agree. The back and sides have what I would describe as a greasy finger feel. When you hold it by the sides, the contact area is sharp, and it's always sliding down through my fingers. I'm using a TPU case from the old N7. The edges will stretch enough to fit around the new N7. The headphone jack, microphone and speakers are covered, but it allows me to grip the sides and keep it from sliding across the table. I also don't like the feel of a bare glass screen for precise touching. The glass is nice for swiping and dragging, but I have to cover it with a dish rag when carrying it. I can't wait until cases and screen protectors are out. I like Wrapsol, but I think I read they went out of business. I like the 'devicewear' brand of case for the full backshell, and multiple prop angles.

Agree...mine is sitting on the carpet charging because I want it near me for the initial charge :)
