List your 5 top must have App's for the HTC One

There's no need for an anti-virus app on phones yet unless your blindly downloading apps from every source under the book and installing APKs from sources that look like they're from Nigeria. I mean it doesn't hurt but I just can't justify using ANY resources on my phone that is really not needed.

1. Dropbox
2. Google keep
3. Radar now
4. blinkfeed/flipboard
5. Power toggles

Power toggles has a flashlight toggle built in and works flawlessly. I use it everyday at work cause our light is out for our time clock and at 4:30 in the morning...it's impossible to see. For some reason, our company is to cheap to replace a 60w light bulb!! I would do it myself...but I have replaced it the last 3 times myself and I isn't doin' it no mo' !!!

Not including pre installed apps...
The 5 I use the most in no particular order are.....
1 - Clearcheckbook
2 - MLB at bat (because it's spring, NHL if it were winter)
3 - Weatherbug Elite (5 day forcast widget on home screen)
4 - Solitaire
5 - Ingress
Love Weatherbug Elite widget! Thanx!

Only 2 things are a "must" for me - AT&T's visual voicemail app and an antivirus app (I use Lookout, it does its job well according to AV-TEST - The Independent IT-Security Institute: Home tests). Most of the other things are either stock (like the browser and email app) or very specific to my needs (like the Chase banking app or Teamviewer app).

BIG thank you for posting this! Just got the One this week and the biggest glaring shortfall of this phone is the way it handles voicemail, especially coming from an iPhone 4. Just installed AT&T visual voicemail and it works great. Asked for a password which I never set on the new phone, and put in my old PW from the iPhone, and voila, brought in a VM from last week from the iPhone and seems to work perfectly! Thanks again!!!

1- Apex Launcher
2- Juice Defender
3- Wifi toggles
4- Swype
5- A.C. forums

ex-iPhone user (4 years)..

- EasyMoney (paid version) - nearest app to the iOS 'Accounts' personal finance app I used to have. It's quite nice, I like how you can define when it creates recurring transactions. Worth the price.
- TomTom - I know everyone throws their arms up at this but I think offline maps are important, don't want to be stuck in the middle of a valley with no data
- Pebble Notifier - a must for any Pebble owner
- Pocket - fantastic web clipping app, also use their Chrome add-in
- RX Reminder - medicine reminder app

Then the usual crap (UK focussed):
Kindle
Netflix
BBC iPlayer/ Radio iPlayer
Dropbox
Easy Backup
Engadget
IMDB
National Rail
MyFitnessPal
Ocado
Gumtree

I'm new to the Android scene. Long time iPhone user. Loving the One so far!

My top five apps:

1. Anyone tried the Everything Home Launcher? I'm using it and really like how it categorizes apps in folders. Pretty slick and free!
2. NOAA Hi-def radar. Nice!
3. Emoze e-mail app is not a bad free email alternative.
4. The group of communication apps called Call+, Contacts+, Call log+, Messages+ and Dialer+ are impressive and free.
5. Woot Check is very nice for wooting!

An honorable mention is a little widget I like called "Wake Lock". It keeps the phone from going to sleep when I have it on a dock.

Forgot about another one - a flashlight app. Since AT&T didn't include one I just downloaded "TeslaLED" - it's free, works perfectly and has no ******* Ads (which I hate the most in "free" apps).

I use notification toggles, & from it I can access my Ones flashlight, so I'm assuming there's a flashlight on the One.

I wish I could use Blinkfeed with Nova. I just want to change my dock apps to Chrome, and keep the HTC Weather Widget...

You can use blinkfeed. Create a shortcut to stock launcher and delete all screens except blinkfeed. When you're done just hit home and you're back to nova

I'm new to android and I've looked for the default launcher to create the shortcut but can't find it. Not listed in my app list. I'd like to create a link to it. Can you tell me how? I'm missing it somewhere.

Thanks!
