Locating the Garbage Can on the Dell Streak 7 (Android 3.2)

I have 2 questions about my Dell Streak 7 wi-fi - running Android 3.2:

1. Where is the garbage can located so I can remove some widgets/icons from my homescreen? I don't see a garbage can icon anywhere.

2. How can I take screen shots without having to root my device. I really don't want to get into this device on that level. I just want to make a few screen shots and all of the screen capture apps I've seen say "for rooted devices only".
