location stock levels..

Personally, I think everyone should just wait... there is absolutely no need to get to the store at nine. None whatsoever. Just go about your business and stroll in later on. This is especially the case if you live in or around South Windsor, CT. Please.

hey bmx when you going update your blog with that poem you said you would monday? I've been refreshing your blog all day lol

thinking about it now.. I am about to post today's blog post so the poem may have to wait till I get that finished up.

Thanks! I called my local verizon, the lady who answered the phone didn't sound a bit surprised. She said she'd add me to the list, they didn't have appointment times but took my name and number to call me back to set one up. (Long Beach, CA Verizon)

BMX....Do we know yet if skype is not gonna happen or is it just something that comes later?

Thats not totally true. Your dad could make you an "authorized user" on the account and you could go into VZW or bestbuy and pick up a new phone all by yourself.

At Best Buy, you need the last 4 of the main holder's ssn, and the 4 digit account password that was set up for you, as well.

I've waited this long for another phone (since Jun 2010), a few more weeks wouldn't matter. That way they can get them early bugs out of it. My target date is the first week of April.

It's the same way in Miami. No rush if you live in Miami. The morning is for sleep and getting ready for work. I'd suggest everyone in Miami wait until at least noon, that way you can be sure the phone is actually for sale. You don't want to get there at nine just to find out the the phone isn't for sale yet.

according to my local store, I will be fine for the 9am time slot of course and she didn't expect to sell out

All of my local Verizon stores refused to make appointments, and one of them wouldn't even tell me how many they had in their shipment (which is a step up from yesterday when they told me they weren't selling it)! I'm going to go to the store that told me they had "a few" because they were a bit more pleasant than the other stores. I have class at 10, so I plan on getting there right when they open and get everything done as fast as I can.

Question: How much money am I looking at spending? I know the phone is $250, but do they charge an activation fee? If so, is there any way to say that you will activate it yourself?

If they insist on activating it for you, tell them that you can't activate it yet and don't have time to configure the phone for a few hours due to classes. If they push back (they shouldn't), then tell them it's for another family member and that you can't deactivate their phone yet, that you are showing up early to purchase the phone before you're ready to use it, by which it may have gone out of stock.

Again, they shouldn't bother you at all, but if they do say the first line, and if they still act like jerks say the rest. Speak to the manager if your clerk refuses to leave it unactivated; VZW has no policy that requires them to activate the device for you and imposing this upon you also leads to reduced customer convenience and satisfaction which is something they don't want to deal with.

Thanks for the response. I'm going to say that I don't have time for them to activate it and for me to set it up before class. Regarding activation, is the process relatively easy? Do I just have to call a number or something like that?

Come on... be serious! There is not going to be a crowd for this device launch. Many of the people that were interested in this device have moved on and realize that the delays were for a reason, and more than likely not for a good reason! The HTC Thunderbolt is not going to sell out in one day, especially since there has been a whole month of production since the first anticipated launch date. Don't be foolish and rush out to buy this handset the Thunderbolt. It would be best to wait andlet others report on any problems it may have before spending your hard earned dough on a device that may have problems and short battery life!

This guy must work for AT&T or it might be "Jobs" himself judging by his comments... Lol everybody should go early and help this phone sell out by 10:00 am unlike the "iphail

9:15 AM in the Times square Best Buy Mobile. They have one put away for me, but they added the caveate "it should be for sale tomorrow"
