I will cut a long story short. I had to rest my phone back to factory settings. Now I have 2 problems.
1. Before, when I got a message from my Whatsapp, when the screen was locked, the edge of the screen lit up blue and the little white menu bar appeared at the top for a few seconds before disappearing. That no longer happens. How do I fix it? I have looked at youtube and been into every setting I can find to modify it. I have even turned off and turned on the phone again.
The edge lighting notification thing happens when the screen is unlocked but I want it to happen again for when it is locked too.
2. Also, when I press the button to lock my phone, before I reset it, the lock screen image and clock appeared for a few seconds before the screen turned off completely. That no longer happens and I would like a fix for that too.
I have been googling around and watching youtube videos for this one and it appears that the option 'Show On Lock Screen' is not available when I go into any of the settings in Notifications - Whatsapp. I have only 3 choices, Allow Notifications which is on, Show Silently which is off and Set As Priority which is off. The show on lock screen option is not there. Can it be brought back somehow?
My phone is a Samsung Galaxy S 8 Plus, and as far as I know, it is fully up to date.
