lock screen home shortcuts are gone with pin password set in note 3? Why!??!?

My previous phone was an S3, and I liked my home shortcuts on the lock screen with PIN password security set. Why is this feature gone in Note 3? Is there a workaround?

Same thing for me on my Note 2. As usual with Samsung's updates, one step forward and three steps backward.

On top of it my phone has consistently slowed down. I'm thinking of rooting it and install back the previous ROM.

Three step backwards is right.
It just confuses me beyond belief why they would mess up the PIN lock screen. Why fix something if it's not broken!

I did try this, but it's still not working.

1) I removed PIN security and changed to Swipe
2) Within Swipe, I adjusted the settings to whatever I needed
3) I then went back from Swipe to PIN security and set the PIN.
4) No home shortcuts on the lock screen.

What did I do wrong?

nothing was done wrong... I have a solution for a pattern unlock tho... once you put in your password, do not lift your finger and hold it there and your shortcuts should pop up

Guys mine won't set at all if I restart the phone it shows up but after that none will work??? What's wrong with my phone
