Locked out of my phone.

I changed my lock design thing and couldn't unlock my phone. It's asking me for my gmail account and I'm putting it in correctly, checked several times, and its not allowing me to get back in my phone. What should I do? I've tried a hard reset, but it doesnt even do that.

Are you following this procedure for hard reset? (taken from here)

1. Turn the power off. Pull the battery out and replace it if the Power button doesn’t work.
2. Press and hold the Volume Down and Power buttons.
3. Release the Power button while continuing the hold Volume Down until a menu appears prompting you to select Fastbook, Recovery, Clear Storage, and Simlock.
4. Select Clear Storage using the Volume Down button.
5. Press the release Power button.
6. Select Volume Up for Yes.

Yeah, that didn't work. I held the volume down button, but when I pressed and released the power button, it just turned the phone on. And it still won't let me do anything.

Make sure you're really pushing down hard on that volume down button, and try holding the power button instead of pressing and releasing. Your phone being locked should not affect your ability to boot into recovery.
