Lockscreen issues

not sure if anyone else has this issue or knows how to fix it, but sometimes when i press my power button instead of getting to the lockscreen it just goes to a blank screen. This happens pretty often and after a few tries it finally goes to the lockscreen.

Just to be clear...If the phone is on (read you see your home screen) then the first press is standby (black screen) and the second press will bring up the lock screen. If off (standby), then one press is all it takes. Do you have a case on it that is limiting the access? Also have you removed your back cover? Take it off and reseat it making sure it fully seats all around.

the issue im having is that from standby (screen is black/off) i press the power button once and it has a lit up black screen and i have to go back to standby and then it'll allow me to go to the homescreen. It also does this when im on a call and when i need to go to enter something via keypad the screen is blank but the touch commands are still there ie i can enter numbers blindy. Not sure if this is a settings issue or one specific to my phone. Im not using any covers and i tried reseating my battery it did not work. Im using CleanROM too btw.

Sounds like a sensor driver issue. Hopefully one of the rootdoms will chime in soon.

Finally!!! I thought I was the only one. I thought it was the proximity sensor screen shutoff program I had, so I removed it, then I thought it was my Screen Shutdown and lock program that I had, so I removed that also with no luck. If you are in a lower light situation and press the power button, you can see very faintly that the screen is really on, just dimmer than you know what. If you swipe your thumb up to unlock the phone within about 10 seconds, the screen will come on eventually. this is a real problem for me when this happens on an incoming phone call, because you cannot hit the power button to bring the phone to live or you will send the call to voicemail. The same thing happens when on a call, the proximity sensor turns off the screen, and if I wait 8 to 10 seconds after pulling it away from my ear, the screen will com one eventually. What a PITA!

When did you notice this to be an issue, after the 2.3.4 update?

I also wanted to add that I am not rooted and using the stock 2.3.4 ROM.

I noticed this issue right out of the box, and so before the 2.3.4 update I think

That is interesting, because I have one of the first models that were released, and I never had this issue until the 2.3.4 update. I just did a factory reset again, and am installing software one at a time basically, to see if I can reproduce it. So far so good, it has gone away.

I could be mistaken I updated/rooted almost as soon as I turned it on so I can't recalled exactly when the issue began. Please keep me updated on your progress as I'd rather factory reset it than return the phone

I too am having this issue. Mine did it right out of the box. The girl at Best Buy told me that it should be fixed with a software update, but could not tell me when this was going to happen. Kind of annoying when your trying to answer the phone or press numbers while on a call.:-\

been trying factory resets and battery pulls for a few days now, nothing. i think im going to try to return it and get another one. lucky me too since tomorrow is the 14th day of the 14 days i get to return it to wirefly
