lollipop for Verizon model, anyone get it yet?

im updating now as well. I have a friend on Sprint with the M8 and he got his a few weeks ago. he DID NOT do a factory reset, and says his phone is very smooth and fast, no battery life difference. I figure if the Verizon version causes problems, I'll do a reset then, but for now, im going for it without doing a reset.

Ill do one this weekend when I have more time. Plus Ill need to setup Good again with our Comm team.

Got it yesterday outside Atlanta, GA. Hate it so far - can you say sloooowwww? Battery life way down. Have done all the quick fixes suggested on various sites with no success. Sad face :-(

This is my fear in updating the M8. MY Verizon MotoX 2014 took the Lollipop problem with no problems, just a few quirks. I've read reports of slowness and bad battery on the M8. What kind of things did you try, factory reset yet?

Just disabled 17 apps. I thought I read somewhere that with Lollipop we could delete apps not just disable them. If true I guess Big Red blocked it because I don't see the option anywhere. Is this info Wrong?

On part 2 of the update. OTA servers must be busy, my download times are kinda ugly. Probably another half hour just to download. Great things come to those who wait. So they say.

Reset before and after plus a partition cache wipe. I will let you know how it went in a few days after everything settles.

Yup. I did this and so far things are running very smoothly. It'll take a few days after the OS settles down to really determine battery life.

How can you make this determination when you JUST installed it. The OS is likely indexing all your apps and data, which would account for the slowness and battery drain. If it doesn't shake out in a day or two, then do a factory reset and I guarantee you it'll run smooth as butter.

I just ran through the 2nd part of the update and after updating a while my phone is now just sitting at a red screen with the Verizon logo in the middle.

Nevermind. All is well now. It's now optimizing the apps. Guess I just need to be more patient.

What? Lol are you seriously trolling on here?

1. This thread was posted in the HTC M8 forums asking about the update on that specific phone. Because it was announced it was available for OTA.
2. Yes - that is the title of this forum - HTC One M8
3. Yes you missed a lot apparently.

I actually came to this thread from the TRENDING NOW area of the forums homepage.
Thus there was no mention of the hardware.
Thus my questions.
Also note my question that I may have missed something (very un-troll like)

Way to keep it classy.

I've been part of the custom ROM scene before. So I can tell you for a fact that any time a new ROM is installed, the initial boot takes a lot longer than normal.
