My mom's galaxy S4 got the lollipop 5.0.1 update from att. Everything works great, besides one thing that bugs everyone. When receiving a text, the vibration is very long and doesn't have 2 short vibrates like it did on KitKat. I've factory reset it, tried out all vibration changing apps, and nothing. How do I fix this? Every time she gets a text one of us goes to the phone thinking it's a phone call. So frustrated with this!

Open the Messaging app, tap Menu>Settings, and look at the notification settings. Can you adjust the vibration there?

Try to go into the phone settings>my device>sounds and notifications>vibration intensity/vibrations. Play around with those settings and see if things change. Let us know if it works

Ok, I will when I get home.

Did you figure anything out? I'm having the same issue and am experiencing the same frustration!

I've been having the same issue since the update. Texts, as well as some other notifications ("Battery fully charged. Unplug charger.") come in as one long vibration. I've toyed around with the vibration intensity setting for notifications, but nothing has changed. If I understand correctly, the vibration intensity only controls how intense (strong) the vibration comes in, not the length of the vibration.

I downloaded the app called "good vibrations" and added the regular pause back into it. It works OK... sometimes a long one will sneak it's way in there. Hope att send out 5.0.2 to fix all this!
