Long holding the home button used to bring up news related to search history

Now all it does is bring up "Google Assistant." I want the previous function -- articles and information related to my search history. Anyone know how I can enable this again? Turning off Google Assistant doesn't seem to re-enable the function I'm looking for.

You're welcome! In theory the ability to keep both voice assistant and the cards is coming to a future update to Assistant, so here's hoping. I, like you, really liked the news cards (you can get a similar feature on Newstand, but it just doesn't feel as 'right' as the Google Cards one). I'm still not sure what the real difference between Assistant and Google Now is, other than now I have to talk to my phone more... not ideal when you can't really talk to your phone at work or people seem to think you're crazy.
