Looking for a low maintenance ROM

My wife's Epic was having some major crashing issues after the Froyo update (EC05, I think). After three reflashes from Sprint that didn't fix the problem, I decided to root her phone and just put on a new ROM.

I flashed the ACE ROM I found in these forums, and I was having a lot of issues of Google Apps force closing.

So my question is, are there any recommendations for a low maintenance ROM? My wife doesn't care much about a lot of the perks you get from a rooted phone. I'm just trying to track down a stable ROM that retains handles normal smartphone functionality well.

Thanks everyone!

I have been using SyndicateROM Frozen 1.1.0 (Takiya) for over a month without a single issue. I also installed it on my wifes Epic, and she has had no issues.

Have you tried fixing permissions from CM? Or clearing the cache of the offending apps? There shouldn't be a FC issue with ACE or any other EC05 stock based ROMs.

To be honest, I don't know how to fix permissions. I'm brand new to rooting. Is that an option in the CM boot menu?

I did uninstall/reinstall the apps this morning before work. I haven't heard any complaints from my wife about her phone yet, so maybe that fixed it.

Good, I hope that resolved it.

If it does happen again you can boot into CWM and wipe just CACHE PARTITION and ADVANCED>DALVIK CACHE, 3x. Then reboot.

That will normally clear up any FC's.

If that doesn't work then you can reboot into CWM and goto ADVANCED>FIX PERMISSIONS.

Then reboot once that is done.

I been using syndicate myself now, the "fully loaded" version.

which is stock with touchwiz.

no issues with it at all or force closes.

where can i find info on "Truly Epic"?

Truly Epic Rebirth which your speaking of is based off older leaked DK28 Froyo. You could still flash it if you wanted to flash back to DK28 we have all you need to do it.

Flash SRF and the journal-enable zip on XDA. You'll be incredibly stable. If you get freezes, just flash VisionKernel or Genocide.
