Looking for a way to get to the Homescreen

Hi,

I need to use an old phone whilst mine is being repaired. The old phone is a Vodafone Smart Ultra 6 which is running Andriod 5.1.1 and has soft buttons at the bottom of the screen. These don't work reliably. The 'recent apps' on the right never works the home button in the center works occassionally. Sometimes the soft button icons just will not appear. So I can get stuck in an app, and potentially have to reboot to get back to the homescreen.

I'm looking for another way to get to the home screen. Swiping down to see my notifications always works, so perhaps an app that places a notification there that will take me to the home screen or to an app launcher. Perhaps there are other ideas. I'm hoping for a workable suggestion. Any ideas?

Try something like Pie Controls.

Thank you very much B. Diddy for your reply. You put me on the right track. I've settled on using Navigation Gestures by XDA for now.
