I'm looking for recommendations for an inexpensive Verizon handset capable of screen mirroring by wired or wireless connection (no WiFi router/internet).

I'm currently using Nexus handsets which don't support these functions. Nexus works with Chromecast but requires a router/hotspot. Thank you!

Which Nexus phone do you have? The Nexus 5 (not the 5X), 7, and 4 support Slimport (MHL's main competition).

EDIT: Oops, never mind -- I saw from your other posts that you have one of the newer Nexus phones.

Yes sir, 5X and 6P. But you're right, I should have been more specific. I still like the Nexus 4 but the lack of LTE is a killer.

What's your budget? On the website, the cheapest phone they have that supports MHL is a certified p Galaxy S4 for $240.

Good call, sir. I did not think to check VZW. Wasn't expecting them to carry handsets that far back. Would like to stay under $200. I will check Gazelle and Amazon for S4s. I had one for T-Mobile. Good device.

I know that the LG G4 has bootloop issues, but mine uses Miracast just fine on my Samsung smart TV.
