Loose Power Button

Hey all,

So I unboxed my S10e and right off the bat I noticed the power button is loose and rattles. This is something I have experienced before with Pixel phones but never a Samsung. Is this common? Is your power button a bit loose or is it just mine?

Im glad someone has brought this up. Mine is super loose, literally wobbles. Where did you get yours from?

Yeah, I already boxed it up and sending it back...my OCD is too strong to even begin playing around with everything because of that annoying power button.

Let us know how it goes. I hope you'll get one with a more secure button in its place.

Mine is a bit loose for sure.

I got it from Costco and it's the T-Mobile version.

Everything works and it took forever to set up. I'll probably just keep it.

I had assumed it must be that way for everyone, but sounds like not.

Part of me was thinking that maybe it is supposed to be loose since it houses the FPS into it as well. Seems that is not the case and it is a bummer. Small things like that just don't sit well with me when I am paying for a device that is $750 retail. And considering I am comparing it to an iPhone X, which has impeccable build quality, it was going to have to be perfect.

You enjoying your s10e so far?

So far I am. My battery was draining randomly the first day (and also I had a hard time putting it down) but since sorting that out, it's been nice. I'm very impressed even though I dislike the beauty mode (which I have disabled). I'll see how the battery life thing plays out.

The front camera has an annoying beauty mode, which I turned off. It looks better than it did on the S9. The color differences in skin tone and the saturation is something that I'll have to consider if I will be okay with long term.

Visit best buy or your carrier store and see if the button feels the same as yours. If not then definitely defective and exchange. If it does then may be it's designed like that and you got to decide what you want to do. Personally I'm not feeling it loose but everyone's tolerance level is different.

Saw on Reddit people are being denied exchanges due to it only being a workmanship defect. I'm having the same issue with mine and am debating whether it is worth going back to TMobile to attempt an exchange.

I had purchased mine at samsung.com and they don't even accept exchanges, just returns.

If it bugs you enough, I think it would be worth attempting an exchange. Worst thing they can say is no and you didn't lose anything.

Agreed. I plan to head to the store at some point this week to give it a shot.

For those that are finding the button loose, does it feel like it's going to fall out or stop working?

I did not think it was going to fall out, nor did I think it would stop working. To me, it just felt like bad build quality. Especially for a $750 device. I would expect a $300 phone to exhibit something like mine did.

Absolutely. Build quality is a biggy in my book.
