Losing a data connection randomly

Hey guys so today my Evo has just started to randomly lose a data connection. I try turning off and turning back on the mobile network but that doesn't reestablish the data connection. But when I turn it off and back on the data connects again. I have had this Evo since launch day and it just started acting up today. Anyone have any ideas?

having this issue as well. Especially when trying to download an app. it keeps saying waiting for data connection.

Anyone know how to update PRL / etc. Where do I go into the settings?

I too am having this issue. I know you can update the PRL in settings, but it doesn't seem to help. Anyone else? I just got my EVO last night and I don't really want to have to already return it for another one.

Did you uncheck that Always on Data box? if so, that is very likely it.
I tested it and when I had it off, i had random data issues and message saying no connection.
Since I checked it again, i havent had it come back.

I just updated my PRL again and the data issues seemed to have stopped. I leave data on as I use the phone enough to not what to deal with turning it on and off. Lets hope it was just a crap prl.

just happened today for the first time... the woman I was with (Sprint, but non-Evo) had no problem receiving emails over a three hour period... for most of that time I had no data at all (it came on for about 30 seconds tice and I received a bunch of messages each time). It now seems to be fine. I had Always on Data checked.

I have a T-Mobile G2 and in many locations my data will drop then come back then drop again.

I haven't had any issues like this lately. I used to get it, and a restart would fix it. I think maybe it has something to do with the way android handles the data connection, or maybe it was just the ROM, but I honestly have no real idea why it happens. Have you updated the PRI?
