Android Central Question

I have an LG Stylo 6 that keeps losing all of its sound: apps, system notifications, ringtone, everything.

Factory resetting the phone does fix it. However, it will work find for about 4-5 days, and then the same problem happens.

It's probably not a good thing for the long-term health of the phone to keep doing this and it's also an inconvenience to keep doing it.

Any advice?

Welcome to Android Central.

Factory Resetting is only going to affect you, the phone will take it very well. Unless you're doing something weird when you factory reset it shouldn't be harmful to the device at all. In the meantime you've kind of point to the issue. If starting fresh brings everything back and in a few days to a few hours everything goes back to the same behavior the issue is something you keep installing. When it's closed or before it has the needed permission everything works but after that app opens or it gains that permission the issue starts.

Option 1: Follow this path Settings>Apps>tap the 3 dots in the upper right corner>Special access>Modify system settings>remove permission from any apps that you installed. When needed they will request permission again so this isn't permanent. Just keep track of apps that ask for this permission and if the issue returns one of the last apps to request this permission is likely the one causing your issue.

Option 2: Factory reset one last time. This time select the option to NOT auto install apps. By allowing your apps to auto install after a factory reset you are just installing the problem app over and over. Then it takes a day or two or whatever for you to open the problem app or for it to open itself and the problem to come back. Take your time and only install the apps you need then add on slowly a few at a time and when the issue comes back the problem will usually be one of the last things installed. Usually, not always but this can help identify the problem.

Welcome to Android Central! Is it possible Do Not Disturb is turning on?

When you lose sound, are all of the volume sliders useless? Can you even adjust the volume using the sliders?
