losing data when data switches between LTE and 3G

I've been having this problem probably once a day since I've gotten the phone where my phone will lose data signal while switching between 3G and LTE and the only way to get data back is to restart the phone. Turning airplane mode on and off won't work either.

I have this problem as well. Since its am in a 4GLTE area, I have my phone set to lte with voice only, you can use the lte on off app in the android market to do this. The default setting is lte and cdma, i have nothad much luck with this.

You can also enable mobile data always on in your settings, wifi and network, mobile network settings.

Finally, in settings, power, you can have sleep set to off.

Hopefully one or a combination of these will help fix your problem.

It made it much less frequent. Before, it was a few times a day, now, it's maybe once every few days.

Happens on occasion to me lately because I'm going thru work training in an area on the edge of LTE coverage.

But honestly this happened on my Droid Charge and happens occasionally on my LTE Xoom. I doubt it's the phone because of this.

I have that trouble going from 1x to 3g. I live 8 blocks from a tower. When I leave work 10 miles away I will drop 3g every time which I didn't with my OG Droid. When I get to town where I live I drive right by the tower and sometimes takes up to 15 mins to change from 1x to 3g. A few times I had to shut the phone off and restart. Another thing is that I am looking at the phone right now and it is bouncing from 2 bars to 3 bars and I can look out my window and see the tower. My wife has the Droid X2 and my son has the droid 3 and they have full bars and don't drop the 3g like mine does. I am on my 3rd Rezound. 1st one had the over heating problem and I exchange the 2nd one because the signal problem and all 3 phones have exhibited a week signal. If if wasn't for that this would be the best phone I ever had.

I kind of have the exact opposite issue. My phone doesn't switch over from 4g to 3g very often. It just hangs on 4g when the signal drops out, I have to manually shift to 3g in settings. Which annoys the living crap out of me because 4g is constantly hanging. I average a horrible -94 dbm, but my 4g is weakest when it should be strongest. It can't maintain 4g connectivity at all when it drops below -90. It makes no sense to me. I'm beginning to despise LTE, it's great when it's working but it rarely maintains any 4g connectivity long enough to enjoy using it. I can't tell you how many times I've almost lost it and chucked my phone against the wall cuz of this LTE nonsense. If I was in a poor coverage area, this wouldn't be frustrating, but I live a strong coverage area but the signal in my condo. absolutely bites.
