Losing Interest In 3 XL

I wouldn't put all iPhone users in one bucket. Using Android is just as easy. It is easier to screw some things up if you delve into areas with little knowledge. I actually find certain things in IOS less intuitive and I use both platforms.

Yeah not all but good amount, I use both platforms also ...I cant stand ios for not putting your apps where u want and just spring back up

Traditional yes, Android has been a place for the more tech savvy consumer for sure. BUT I think the system has become more user-friendly since Lollipop, IMO.

Still though, a Samsung can be a bit intimidating for the "outta the box" consumer.

You think so?...I love the way my s9+ is but then again you have like 2 play stores like Google and Samsung apps i can see that as a learning curve but pixel out the box is much user friendly

I agree with you. Samsung isn't difficult, but you start adding in third party messaging apps, contact management etc and it can get unruly for people unfamiliar with that type of UI navigation.

...and I could only use iOS as a second choice. That OS drives me up the wall every time I've touched it.

Four reasons I will take the Pixel Notch over a Samsung 9 series

TouchWiz
Edge to edge screen
Slow updates
Samsung service

They would have to eliminate or improve as applicable all 4 of of those items for me to buy it over the Pixel. I didn't mention the cartoonish screen colors because that's not a deal breaker. Don't get me wrong....they make a great product but it's not for me.

Samsung makes a awesome product))

You know, I probably have a different approach to my tech than many people. For me, I start with services and UX. So years ago when I decided to put Google at the center, my device decisions were, and still are, driven by what devices support Google's service the absolute best. The closer a device can bring me to that user experience is what I want to buy.

Probably one of the reasons I don't fully get the whole spec sheet discussion we go on ad nauseam. At the end of it all, user experience is what matters the most, IMO. That's why Apple can sell phones for $1,000 and up with a remedial spec sheet. Because they are selling lifestyle tech, as it's been said more than once in these threads.

Google is looking to do the same, I believe, but bring a different message. One that they know better than any other tech company in the world, curating answers and solutions for users. They can do it too, but they need to stay on message and not get distracted by the naysayers.

I knew you were a closet Boston fan. I was going to mention that in my last post....lol

Hahaha..I missed this post by you
I don't care for baseball much , only if I play it ...more a hockey fan and yes my team is ......to be continued

Hahaha my hometown Detroit red wings

I'm not suggesting they don't.... It's just not awesome for me.

I know , you said they make a good product ,but not for you .
I'm just saying they are awesome))

Edit : it's not touchwiz...Samsung experience

I'm the same way. Once I decided Google's services were for me, I jumped all in so that all my smart gadgets would be seamless.

My phones, apps, all my home automation stuff, speakers, tvs, etc, either are made by Google, collaborated on by Google or have the assistant baked in. Because like you mentioned, it's a whole user experience that is just so seamless and easy. Most don't go to the same extent with the gadgets, but it's still that experience they're looking for.

That's the way to do it

These threads and forums are not indicative of the actual market or the average consumer. I'd say if we were going by the threads alone here it might be split and not the majority. There are many on the fence and waiting to see the final product because the notch is not necessarily a deal breaker by itself. There are also many who complain about the notch that have no intention of buying a Pixel regardless of the notch.

When I said all over I meant all over the internet, social media, co-workers, you tube etc, and yes, even here on the forums, but I didn't mean JUST here on the forums, I meant INCLUDING the forums. I thought that was fairly clear as well. I guess I need to be clearer ;-) I'll work on wording my posts better :-)

My statement still applies to many of the other sites you mention.
