Losing net connection on a D802 unit

Hi,
Whenever I start a net search (or any other browser action) in situations in which both Wi-Fi and standard internet are set active, but no Wi-Fi server is available, I get a no internet connection available note.
If I disable Wi-fi communication turns back to normal.
What's wrong?
How do I solve this mystery?

Is it actually connecting to a wi-fi hotspot that doesn't have internet access? Or does this happen when there are no wi-fi hotspots around at all?
 
None of the two. I lose connection when no wi-fi hotspot is available but my smartphone is configured for wi-fi as well as standard communication.
 
Did it used to work correctly, and this problem only recently started?

First, go to Settings>Wi-fi, tap Menu>Advanced, and see if there is a Smart Network Switch option. If there is, turn it off.

If that doesn't help, then boot into Safe Mode to see if some 3rd party app might be the problem: https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-11127
 
Hi Diddy,
I looked for the Smart Network Switch, but failed to find it, it least not on standard mode. However, I've acknowledged that the "Switch to Mobile Data" is unchecked. I change it, and the problem disappeared.
Thanks for indication the direction for the solution.
