Losing widgets when moving apps to SD Card

When I move an app to the SD card, if there are any widgets associated with it the widget disappears. And when attempting to replace the widget on the homescreen, it no longer appears in the list of available widgets. Moving the app back to the phone makes the widget available again.

Has anybody else noticed this? Is this normal?

Yes, it's normal. It's to prevent your widgets from shorting out should you mount your phone's SD card as a drive for your computer.

Don't move apps with widgets to the SD card - so says google. Reasons mentioned above, already

Yea I found this on the droid also. So as mentioned just keep apps with widgets on the phone. I usually just move the big apps and games to the sd

Is there some way of using widgets with the app on the SD card? Cause I'm running out of space on my phone so I have to transfer them to the SD card.
