Hi all,

I got a frustrating issue and I'm not quite sure how to troubleshoot. Would appreciate some help

I have a brand new Pixel 8 Pro. Phone calls using the handset, not a problem, 4g calling works, can use internet at same time. Same is true if I connect to Bluetooth headset.

However, when I make a call through android auto, couple of things happen. First, within a few mins of the call starting, it gives up on 5G or 4G signal, (it usually stays with H+) so the call quality starts to deteriorate. Then the internet connectivity fails, and Google maps will loose traffic info, or Spotify stops loading etc. Happens whether I am stationary or moving, so I don't think it is a cell tower problem.

The only way of restoring the better signal is to toggle airplane mode, like it needs to re-establish the connection with mobile network. Obviously this means cutting the call and would have to do it every few mins.

Has anyone experienced this, or got any tips to eliminate problem settings.

For what it's worth, was happening on previous phone 6pro too. O2 network in UK

Thank you
Nathan

Haven't heard anyone running into this issue , I'll put your question in the Pixel 8 forum to see if any members ran into this and can move later to our Android Auto forum.

What version AA you on ?

I googled your issue and a bunch of similar scenarios came up. You might want to go through those and see if any of those w/the same issue will work for you. Click here.
