Welcome to Android Central.

Your only hope of finding them would be in your files. Go under My Files. If they are mot there then there is no other place they could be. Sorry I couldn't offer you better news. Thanks.

Memory card failures come in various levels. Try putting the SD card in a card reader and see if your computer can see anything on the card. There are some recovery programs that might be able to find something.

You may use android recovery apps. I've the experience of using the app DiskDigger to recover files. It scans whole device- including the SD card for deleted files.

Install the app and then follow-
1. Open the DiskDigger app and tap "Refresh List" to populate the screen. Once the screen is populated select the "System" folder.
2. After you have selected the folder tap "Scan Device" and you will see a list of most recent deleted files. Look for the files you want to recover simply select it and hit save.

Use the recovery apps mentioned mentioned by the other users above.
But avoid making any data changes to your device or taking more pictures.
The more you change the SD the less change will be able to recovery something. Good luck

Assuming that the file system on the card is trashed (second worst case - the worst case id that the card's been ground up), download PhotoRec to your PC (Windows, Linux or Mac - there are versions for each). Instructions are at PhotoRec Step By Step. It's going to take time, but if the card isn't physically damaged, PhotoRec will recover every file on it, accessible or not. (It looks for the files themselves, not for their entries in the directory.) It can take days, depending on the size of the card, but if PhotoRec can't recover files, they can't be recovered. (And they don't get copies made in the phone unless you copied them.)

As GameDus said, DO NOT do anything to the SD card, except remove it from the phone (either eject it [which doesn't physically eject it] or turn the phone off - then remove it.

Deleted picture apps write to the card. PhotoRec recovers files to any other drive, but not to the one it's recovering from. It's forensic software, that means that the original must be left intact. (Yes, it should sell for hundreds of dollars - it doesn't, Christophe Grenier, the developer, has kept it free.)

I had a similar problem, when my memory card fails I searched google and found Recoverfab website. They are high tech people that could recover all pictures and files from my memory card. Even my memory card wasn't recognized on phone or laptop. check them here http://recoverfab.com/
