Lost Root and Everyone is Confusing Me

When I'm in bootloader I get:

daniel-levines-macbook:~ daniellevine$ cd Desktop
daniel-levines-macbook:Desktop daniellevine$ cd adb-fastboot
daniel-levines-macbook:adb-fastboot daniellevine$ ./adb devices
List of devices attached

daniel-levines-macbook:adb-fastboot daniellevine$ ~/desktop/adb-fastboot/ chmod +x flash-all.sh
-bash: /Users/daniellevine/desktop/adb-fastboot/: is a directory
daniel-levines-macbook:adb-fastboot daniellevine$

When my phone is on I get:

daniel-levines-macbook:adb-fastboot daniellevine$ ./adb devices
List of devices attached
0146B5040500C004 device

daniel-levines-macbook:adb-fastboot daniellevine$

I switched back and forth with USB debugging and tried different combos. Still no luck.

OK.so that number string is your phone when u adb devices

Adb recognizes your phone then.

Did.you try to
CD desktop
CD adb-fastboot
./ chmod +x etc???

Another thing is, your folders have to be named "adb-fastboot" for example, if its called something else you have to cd to whatever its called.

At dinner now, not sure when I'll be back but I'll try to be quick so I can help

Don't rush yourself, I'll be up all night. Don't blow the girl off!

Yea, I'm very careful with my commands. My folder is named adb-fastboot. I'm not such a noob that I don't understand how basic terminal functions work. I tried the ./ chmod thing and it didn't work.

But adb only recognizes when my phone is on, not when I'm in boot loader.

daniel-levines-macbook:adb-fastboot daniellevine$ ./fastboot flash bootloader bootloader-toro-primekk15.img
sending 'bootloader' (2308 KB)... OKAY
writing 'bootloader'... OKAY
daniel-levines-macbook:adb-fastboot daniellevine$ ./fastboot flash bootloader radio-toro-i515.ek02.img
sending 'bootloader' (10496 KB)... OKAY
writing 'bootloader'... FAILED (remote: Write Fail)
daniel-levines-macbook:adb-fastboot daniellevine$ ./fastboot flash bootloader radio-toro-i515.fc05.img
sending 'bootloader' (10496 KB)... OKAY

What does this mean? The radios failed to write...now what?

WOOOOOOH! GOT IT!!!!

I had to move around my files, that's why the commands wouldn't work for unrooting. Then I rerooted and everything. AOKP still wouldn't install.

The issue? My stupid mac automatically unzipped files I downloaded, so when I compressed them again they must have been corrupt or lost an important file.

I was probably having the same issue with zipthemer when I tried to update edify.

Stupid Mac...at least I'm a pro at rooting and flashing now lol.

You can't flash a compressed file, so you're Mac was basically trolling you lol

My MacBook is a major troll. I tried to change my OS to linux ubuntu, spent weeks trying to do it. Brought it to a knowledgable friend. Sat there for 5 hours and gave up. OSX sucks, especially Lion.

But can anyone direct me to a link for franco r180 kernel? Been looking for the link for a while with no luck.

Franco app is good. Franco also has a thread for his kernels at rootz and xda for free.

Glad you got it to work, weird issue... my MacBook doesn't do that but I don't remember if it did when I got it or if it never did..

Hey guys. I want to flash the new franco kernel from the computer (I'll buy his app anyways and support him). I went to the xda thread like you guys said.

Which ones do I download? I'm a little confused on terminology. What is a milestone and nightly? I read dmmarck's guide so I know what the governor is.

Also what are the latest radios? Mine say I515.09 V.EK05 and I515.EK02.

Milestone = completely stable
Nightly = can be stable, but can be experimental.

The latest radios can be found in zero's thread--the very top link (with bootloader). FC## from the IMM76K build.

Cool...using Milestone 4, gonna try r181 in a bit. But two questions.

Android File Transfer on my Mac isn't reconciling with my Root Explorer (USB debugging is on). How can I fix this or is there a better transfer program for Macs?

Also, I know what BusyBox does, but do I need both BusyBox from Stericson and Busybox Installer from JRummy16? I have both free versions, and I want to go Pro with them. Do I buy both or just need one? If not, which one is better? By their titles I thought one is an installer to make the BusyBox program from Stericson run easier.

Turn off USB Debugging. That messes with the File Transfer. As far as alternative apps, I know of none.

When I unlocked, I just used busybox installer. I guess it could be useful to have the other, but it's certainly not a necessity. So just keep the installer.
