I am confused on how to update the software on this phone.. each phone i had from android you could update thought the phone. but this phone does not have that option at all. I did research online and saw a forum to use kies. needless to say i tried this and the program won't detect the phone. I am at a complete lost.

You have to install the Samsung phone drivers first. They are available on Samsung's website.
Once you have the drivers installed, Keis will see the phone.
