love francos kernel

I get best results with 14.4. Btw, Franco says to set
minimum speed to 700. Something about too much throttling. Works good for me.

I seem to agree with you, 14.4 was real good on my battery. 15 and 15.1 didn't start off good and phone got a little warm. Like stated above, 15.2 seems to be very good so far for me too.

Edit: And his new app update looks a lot cleaner and you can now turn off his boot animation some didn't like too much.

I tried 15 and my battery tanked, so I went back to 14.4. I didn't try any other governer other than the default turtle one. Thanks for the tip on 15.2, will check it out. These kernel updates come out faster than you can flash...almost eh lol

"So I have had my new kernel/rom for 15 minutes....wheres my stinkin update?!" :D

FUN TIMES!

It's funny how some people notice battery effects on different kernel versions. I've run ever one of Franco's kernels since #12 and have never noticed the slightest change in my battery performance on a single one of them.

I only first flashed yesterday, but between 15.1 and 15.2 the difference is night and day. My phone also was staying slightly warm of 15.1 and was drinking battery fairly quickly even while idle. Today, completely different story on 15.2...I'm getting great results so far.

I don't see how you haven't noticed it. Maybe we're more in tune with our devices lol.

I wonder if you re-flashed 15.1 (clearing cache and dalvic) if it would go back to bad battery life and running hotter? I have no basis for this, but I'm guess that more often than not, any battery issues between kernels is related to a bad flash...like something gets a little goofed. Maybe even could be corrected with either a good old battery pull or re-wiping cache and dalvic.

What are people's thoughts on Dynamic Hotplug?

At first, kinda terrified. However, when I installed/flashed I was at 93%. Went down to 92% and stayed there for an hour with little use. Not sure WTF that was, but it was cool.

What are your settings? I'm not messing with voltage but I may jump up from the 1000 to 1350.

Doing francoturtle with both hot plug settings enabled. Sticking with the 1000/700 for now. 15.2 was great....hopefully 16 will be just as nice on the battery.

Im running it with Bugless Beast, 1350 max, 700 min, francoTurtle, and dynamic hotplug.

Have you tried gaming or anything like that yet? I've been switching between 1000 and 1350, but I really want to know how it reacts under the stress of something like Shadowgun.

Also, on XDA Franco said not to check off both of the hotplugs; in theory, nothing should happen, for the only time both would ever be active would be screen_off. So I'd choose either or (I chose dynamic).

I have the app and it's not showing an update is available. I wonder why.

Try updating in the Market. He updated it twice (the app itself) over a period of like 20-30 hours. Then, hit download and you should be ok.

Franco said he's going to release a minor update (16.1) later today. If you haven't flashed 16 yet, might want to wait.
