Does Nova (and Apex and other alternative launchers) work on top of Touchwiz, i.e., does it add overhead in terms of CPU and RAM usage on top of TW?

It's more of what you describe as "partial". It essentially replaces the homescreen and app drawer, and no, it doesn't add overhead in terms of CPU and/or RAM. Because of this, most of the TW-specific widgets won't work (I haven't tested all of them), but actual TW features, such as S-pen and Air gestures, etc., all still work perfectly.

Gotta say - Nova Prime is so much better to work with than TouchWiz. Faster, no negative battery life impact, and highly configurable. I'm glad I switched.

Some of the widgets you guys posted are awesome. I bought AccuWeather Platinum last year so I feel obligated to use it but it's widget kind of sucks. I miss the TW AccuWeather widget from Gingerbread

The gestures are awesome. I set one up so that when I double tap my screen Google Maps comes up with my home address pre-filled so that I can get quick directions home from whereever I am.

I was using nova prime. Got this phone set up. Widgets for appy geek. Appy news. Appy gamer. And this site widget were all crashing. Can't get it to work. Any ideas? And yes I have 1 widget per page and 7 pages! Lol

just downloaded this after reading the thread. id have downloaded it just to get an extra row of icons instead of the dead space touchwiz has between the dock and the bottom row.

question, is there any way to edit the lock screen? id like to have widgets there with the pattern lock or something.

I don't think you can have widgets on the lockscreen unless you're just using swipe to unlock. Regardless of launcher.
