Low bars for wifi, connection strong

Hello my name is George and I just got a Samsung s6 plus phone, I connected it to my wifi, and it is working great, my searches are fast, when I go and check wifi signal, it says wifi signal strength very strong. However, the bar that shows the display is at 1. I dont know how to fix this, and it is really annoying. I did the #0011#, but got an mmi error, but I did notice that when I dialed this my bar stregth jumped straight to four. I am in the dominican republic and I am not sure if 0011 works here, or if its country specific. Please help me out.

Try wiping the cache partition, which won't erase any personal data: https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-21095
