Hopefully Google updates this , because if your not in optimal light it won't unlock , i mentioned this in another thread but was little off topic so i made this a topic :)) orher then that i like this Device over the 6pro for many reasons.

My experience with the face unlock was mostly mixed. If you are in a well lit environment it works great.

I barely get it to work. It takes more time for me to align the device just right so it sees my face vs just using the fingerprint sensor.

Even in well lit lighting?

My muscle memory is to pick up the phone with my thumb on the sensor before I even get the camera to see my face. Honestly, I won't use face unlock that much. I'd rather keep to the fingerprint sensor.

It's the same on the galaxy s22 only works in lit areas.

I have no issues with mine (7 Pro) unless it's very, very dim.

I wonder if the ability to recognize is impacted by the level of light present when the feature is first setup...?

No my Flip and Fold 4 do a better job in less light it also has option to brighten the screen in dark areas

Yeah to dim light is not so great for face unlock. Kinda dim seems to work OK at times. I have more trouble with the fingerprint sensor. It might just be me and my placement of my finger, not to sure. But if light is to dim and I time out the FPS then its the backup code every time that finally gets me in. I have 4 fingers registered, 2 twice. If its one other thing I like about my iPhone 13 it's the face unlock is flawless always. But that doesn't make me miss it... yet.

Yeah I can't watch his reviews. He could cut his reviews down by 2/3rds and still say what needs to be said. He rambles way too much.
On another note, I bet it will take both a hardware and software update to totally fix it. They may be able to improve it with a software update but not fix it correctly.

I noticed that even his Hazel 7Pro has scratches on the camera bar, including one Big Ol' nick between the flash and second camera lens. I haven't seen a reviewers 7 or 7Pro yet that didn't have some scratching. Those 7's need to be kept in cases  If I pick one up down the road it won't come out of the box till I have a good case for it lol.

He's an entertainer but I was going through my YouTube feed and I saw his take on the pixel 7 pro and I decided to click on it.

I think it can be fixed with software

When I use face unlock, it usually works well (when there is light). I am mostly satisfied, but more worried about the security of it.

If it misses the first attempt, I use the FPS and lickety-split I'm in! Sometimes that muscle memory kicks in and I'm tapping the FPS before face unlock even has a chance to read me.
