running stock JB unrooted. does anyone know of a way to adjust the threshold where this phone disconnects? seems to happen around -119db. this would be ok except the signal sometimes drops from 115 to 120 if I move the phone or put it in my pocket then comes back up..unless it disconnects. I noticed this when I went up to northern ma where the LTE network isn't so built up.
also in low signal situations: would a case make any difference in signal?

What is the reported RSRQ at that level?

A case can make a slight difference but might improve it as well (slightly). The low water mark for LTE is supposed to be -120 dDm RSRP.

-14. it will disconnect by 120. I haven't seen levels higher than 120 or 15 because its either gone back to 3g or about to. the root issue is when it gets erratic and briefly dips to this level, then it disconnects. this isnt necessary because the signal isn't consistently this low. I would like to adjust it so it holds on a little bit longer, but its not that big a deal. I can see this being extremely annoying to someone whose area isn't covered in LTE Like mine is. in any event, these values aren't adjustable?

They're not easily adjustable - I'm sure someone somewhere can do it but you shouldn't. In your case it should be disconnecting, the signal quality is quite poor as well as being very low power. Who is your carrier?
