[MAC METHOD] Root,Unroot & Unlock Your VZ Galaxy Nexus

Update to my earlier issue - The bootloader screen states "FASTBOOT MODE - NO BOOT OR RECOVERY IMG". I assume this is the issue and it what is causing the boot loop. How do I flash a boot or recovery image? I've downloaded the Android 4.0.2 (ICL53F) files from google code, but following the instructions in the OP gives a file not found error.

Did you download the files linked in the OP?
You need to unlock the bootloader in step one, and then in step two you flash superboot.

i think that's where you're at right?

so, did you go thru with all the steps in the op with the designated files that are linked there?

I followed the instructions exactly as in the OP. I've checked and double checked, and run through it a couple more times. No joy. Stuck in perpetual boot loop hell.

ok on the rooting the phone I'm getting lost on the step where you said to boot the phone and drag and drop using android file transfer, what I'm i dragging and dropping and where? sorry I'm new to droid just got mine yesterday and this is all like a new language to me

my computer is stuck at "<waiting for device>", i have followed the video step by step but cant get past that part

Someone please help me. I've tried following every step exactly the way its posted here to unlock the bootloader but It's not working at all. My Macbook Pro isn't even detecting my phone so when I copy and paste the unlock command in terminal I keep getting the response of No files of those names exist on directory, meaning the zip file that I downloaded and unzipped to my desktop with adb and fastboot. I have definitely checked the debugging box under developer options when I connected my phone with the usb. whats the problem?

Thanks anyway, I got it to work using someone else's method I googled. 4.0.4 stock is a drastic improvement in performance. I highly recommend.

Already posted this in the regular galaxy nexus section but I just figured this might be a better section:
Hi everybody! I'm new here and I'm trying to get 4.0.4 on my galaxy nexus. The problem is, I'm on a mac. I was able to unlock the bootloader but that's a far as I got; information seems to end there for mac users on getting 4.0.4. I'm a novice at all of this and I'm trying to find an easy way to get the update.
1) Do I have to use CWM? If I do, do I have to get rid of it to update once the OTA update is released?
2) What is the process of getting 4.0.4 onto my phone with me using my mac? I have the 4.0.4 software but don't know what to do with it.

Thanks!

word of advice to any noobs unlocking the bootloader on their verizon nexus. i'm not a noob to rooting or hacking my android phone, but i'm a nexus noob (bought it on 2-8-12).

follow the video in the OP up to the 2:57 mark. then enter the code that TitansJonne listed with a space in front of it. works like a charm!

thanks for the guide!

Can you please explain the method you used that worked or provide a link? Most appreciated!

Not a good sign. Can you get to the bootloader? Batt pull, hold down all volume buttons and the power button.

It should NOT take that long.
