pg05img_download.zip

When I "download linked file as" the pg05img_download file to my sd card, it just saves a .html file, not a .zip...

Am I doing something wrong?

kinda the same problem...... I have rooted using this method... and unrooted using the stock firmware in hboot method... now terminal wont recognize my device ./adb devices and nothing come up, i have all the files in the correct place obviously from the first root , debugging is turned on... just ever since i rooted and unrooted, my mac wont recognize thunderbolt. I have heard that there is a command in terminal to recognize my phone but idk... HELP, did this mess my phone up to permanent stock?

download files to sd card

I am new to this whole rooting process and totally enjoyed the in depth instructions. When you mentioned downloading the file to the sd card is that with the phone hooked to the computer and in a r/w adapter?? I know that sounds silly but I lost it there.

I'm receiving my Thunderbolt sometime today and wanted to root it tomorrow. Out of the box, should I be able to do this procedure without any problems? Or will I have an update pre-installed? What versions does this/doesn't this work with? Thanks!

Great writeup, BTW!!

i never even rooted, but still it wont recognize... im going to hunt for the command

edit- figured it out. But, now I'm having problems just downloading the .zip files. When they get near complete something happens, like they either freeze or they dont download correctly. Is there any other way I can get the .zip files? Thanks!

At the end of downloading each file it says "decompression failed." This is after I spend an hour waiting for the thing to download. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? Are those .zip files still ok to use even if it ends with saying "decompression failed?" Thanks

CAN SOMEONE PLZ TELL ME IF THIS WORKS AFTER THE UPDATE? i updated my tbolt and im desperate to root it with my mac, plz reply!

I did the entire procedure as stated, and I am now stuck on the bootloader page, and I'm stuck in Section 2. I Pressed the power button to execute the bootloader, it went through its thing, but it is not asking me if I want to update, instead it is bringing me back to the screen with the "Fastboot" highlighted in blue. What should I do!?! Can I restart? Try again? Try Section two over? Help!!

edit- I figured it out. I ended up redownloading it all over again and deleting whatever I had on the sd card. Then I retried the whole process and it got passed that step.

When I got stuck at that point, I was worried about rebooting the phone, I didn't know if it would cause a hard brick. Luckily, it didn't!! Thanks for the guide Cory!!

if you have an updated phone and you try this root process you will get root but you will end up with old firmware.

either tonight or tomorrow ill edit this thread for you but im in the middle of a triple shift so i dont feel like messing with this to be honest. but ill try to get to it soon
