Mail client limitation over IMAP?

So, moved to Revo from OG Droid and very happy with the huge bump in perf, screen size, etc. Getting used to my first Android device that is tweaked with manufacturer UI skins/apps--mostly not put off by lion's share of it and have easily worked around the Bing silliness by installing all the Google apps.

However, one thing that I'm surprised about--the email app (not Gmail) connected to a production IMAP provider works fine to show me my Inbox, but my folders don't show up when I click "Folders". On my Droid I could then look at all my IMAP folders in this view. Seems the settings pane for this mail client is fairly neutered..once the basic setup is complete I don't see any options for poking around at any tweaks to IMAP, etc.

Curious if anyone else notices this and whether any thoughts on how to get to folders (other than using a different client or using the mobile interface of my email provider).

Thanks,
Phil

I had all sorts of issues with LG's mail client. Nothing really functional, but there were little things that continually annoyed me, such as new emails that I had seen in the notifications bar not showing up in the inbox for a couple minutes. I gave in and paid for Enhanced Email, and have been extremely happy with it.

I still can't get my google apps account to work (with any client) but I think that's a server issue not a phone issue
